Mine are not close but i think its 50How many victories does an Army need to become Guard Army? In the manual it says 75, but I vaguely remember 25 once in a patch somewhere. In my current game I have 11 Armies with 25+ victories and 3 with 30+. No Guards yet

I got one at 47, but that is only for games where you play either mild blizzard or no Soviet +1. And it's not automatic, you just have to wait for the die roll.

Maybe a "pyrrhic victory"
The one hex doesn't give you a week imo. The 4 defense is easily moved & pretty much 100% routed out to be lost a few turns to recover. The attacks leave the Soviets more vulnerable and easier to retreat more so than the Germans on the next round(s) of attacks. It is a cycle the Soviets are destined to lose. Your one ally, time, is helping you though. But if I were the Germans I would continue to attack with infantry during the mud around Moscow which can be done pretty easy but I have seen few do it.

It's mild blizzard in my game. Just reached 42 victories with the top army. Couple of more turns probably then

You probably already know this: if you evacuate the Mig3 factories, they will convert to Il-2 on 1-1-42. I evacuated 20, and got 2 extra Il-2 factories. So evacuating 2 (1 of each batch) will probably be enough.
