So you are one of the "walking dead?". Or "Undead"? That would explain your recent interest in "Anti-vampire practices". [:D]

You had to resurect a 2 year old thread versus starting a new one? As a FYI this is against the forum rules too resuracting old threads like this.

The latest patch was December 23rd, 2013. It includes documentation of all changes since the previous 'official' patch.

5 years old. [;)]

And although I agree with you that the reason for this threads´ resurrection is a bit weird, none the less it is great to see it again.

For all the new guys here, you might want to start reading it from the beginning. And get a picture about the great team that was involved creating WitP AE, all voluntary work, bells and whistles!

A new "official" patch is very, very unlikely. Michaelm's beta patches get the job done.

Where can you get the beta patch from, I don't see it on the forum page?

Great thread, always nice to reread!
There were times when it was original WITP that was called "stock" :)

I have to say, it was work, but it was a labor of love. I'd do it again (and more) in a heartbeat.

If I would have known how it would turn out, I would have joined. At the time I was against
doing a update, I wanted to start from scratch. So I declined when Joe asked. [:(]

I guess jwilkerson's initial question has been answered: it surpassed our expectations.

Eight years later and going gangbusters.

No doubt in all applicable Halls of Fame: Computer Games, Strategy Games, Time-Sucking Crack-Like Games, etc.

Best game ever created.

About seven years ago, I predicted I'd be happily playing this game for another decade, at least. Now I can easily see playing it the rest of my life, if 2072 computers will handle 2009 code and graphics. It probably will. Somebody will have Beta 375.6a.

Thanks to all involved; to those still hanging around and those long gone. What a freaking masterpiece.

Is it not frightening when you start to tally up all those wasted hours playing a computer game. Lets say two, possible three hours a day since 2009. Then of course you can extend it back to 2004 with WitP and even further back to 2002 with Uncommon Valour. 15 Years of utterly wasted time. Added to that is the time spent thinking at work, what the heck did I do wrong; what's the best Japanese a/c production; how can I do this better; how would some one else do that I check the forum, etc. etc.

Is it a game or is it some sad reflection on our meaningless lives.

Not wasted time - a form of meditation that keeps the mind sharp (well, sharper than watching most TV programs!) and allows you to de-stress from real-life pressures (providing you avoid SCLS!).
And the camaraderie of the forum is a wonderful change from the mean-spirited world out there!
Kudos to the game's creators for an immersive experience that is different every time you play!
