RE: RADM Yamaguchi's Diary (Pls no affins or cheesesteak)
You sank an Aussie minesweeper with an ASW of 4. It is great for short range escort work as well as ASW TFs outside or at his bases. You probably sank a S-boat with working torpedoes. The AVP is a mobile Float Plane and/or seaplane tender for dot bases that you may not notice. It could have Cats reaching out into your back areas to see what you are doing. The sub tenders can also help repairs besides refueling and re-ammo. Very useful ships, especially when the torpedoes work. All four are useful ships and there are only so many of those that he gets. Killing them early when he does not have as many is very good work.
Put LRCAP over his airbases and watch his OP losses go up - especially useful against the AVG. They will also assist in sweeps as well as shooting down any transports flying in or out. This last turn the report is that I shot down 3 AVG fighters but they also had 3 OP losses. [8D]

Hi Joe,
Thanks man. You're always so encouraging.
great idea about the lrcap over bases especially about the transports.
i guess i'm almost completely clueless when it comes to the allied OOB

RE: RADM Yamaguchi's Diary (Pls no affins or cheesesteak)
You are welcome. I am learning here as well.
A suggestion though, when bombing airfields at bases like Soerabaja, consider sending some bombers on Ground Attack missions. They may not do much actual damage but they will increase supply usage as well as increase fatigue and disablements.
In China, if he has no airbases for CAP purposes, divide up your light bombers and have each one bomb a separate Chinese Army stack. If nothing else, increase the supply draw. Try to herd his units into the open, a long distance from his supply sources to decrease the amount of supplies that they do get as well as increase wastage. After taking Chungking and his other reinforcement base, then kill the Chinese units. I know that you will kill some before taking those bases and the enemy might suicide his units as well, but if they are not destroyed then they won't come back and help garrison Chungking. If you can block the rail and grey road from Rangoon to Lashio, you will cut the Burma Road and no more free 500 units of Chinese supply per turn. In the meantime, bomb the airbase at the receiving end to try and destroy as many supplies as is possible. Also, try LRCAP at the bases in China where they might be airmailing supplies in, to destroy transports.

LRCAP any bases that his heavies fly from, if you can. I wonder how helpful a Glen flying from a sub would be . . .

I’ve currently got Oscars flying CAP at Dili and Nicks at Korpang in my game.
Oscars aren’t getting close to the B17s even with 70+ rates pilots but Nicks are shooting down at least one a day.
I’m spending PP to change a few more light bomber groups to Nicks so I can get more Nicks on the front line and more FB training groups.
The allies are only going to get more 4E bombers...

You are doing fine at Singapore, it is still before it really fell. You might want to reconsider invading bases with infrastructure that you want to keep since a shock attack seems to damage it more.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

His cousin Ellie Mae is so much better looking . . .
But wouldn't Don Knotts be a better choice? He could be saying "Why can't I have just one bullet!?"

RE: RADM Yamaguchi's Diary (Pls no affins or cheesesteak)
If you raise your fighters to 5000 feet to gain air skill, then they won't get as much fatigue if that gets to be a problem. Kates can train at any altitude for torpedoes but bombing at 1000 for Low Nav. Float Planes could also train ASW for the Jakes which would have a range of 5. You can also train them on low Nav. Regular fighter pilots can go to the A6M2-Rufe, they don't need special training. Set the Range to 0 on units at 100% training to keep their fatigue low.

RE: RADM Yamaguchi's Diary (Pls no affins or cheesesteak)
thanks. not much fatigue yet. range at zero everywhere. that's good about the rufe training. i'll adjust. is training asw worth it vs low nav? i keep thinking that float planes finding them is a good deterent and maybe i'll have enough army planes on asw later to bomb them. i'm not sure.........of anything really.ORIGINAL: RangerJoe
