Palembang oil bug, who
cares? We've learned to live with it, or to tweak it in reports. You fixed some stuff, but added in a bunch of new "show stopping" bugs...but now we're ruined for the old game as well cuz we like the improvements you added that DO work.

It's not a question of what we think you "owe" us, it's a question of what Matrix "promised" us. To be brutally honest, as it stands, I'm not gonna be rushing to buy "War in the Pacific" when it's out. Right now Matrix is 0 for 2...deliver on the original "promises" and you'll have loyal customers for life. Don't, and you won't, it's that simple.

Most of us could care less that the PacWar/Wir upgrades are free...if they worked, probably most of us would be overjoyed to pay for them, Hell I'd write you a check today as a "donation" if they worked. We just plain love the game..."War in the Pacific" is just an abstraction, another wannabe game like "Crimson Tide".
I disagree with you, game is playable,
if feel it isn't, but like some improvements like to Icons, the Icon files can be used with the Old game I believe..

Oil Bug can be fixed, theres other ways
some ways are taking the 40 points and spreading them out and increasing others,
especially like Making the bases north and south of palembang with more oil resources..

I think some have had bigger expections then warranted considering classic pacwar is constrained by the Dos memory limits,
and Grigsby had already pushed those with the original.

If your not going to buy the remake, its YOUR loss, I sure will, I like Grigsbys remake of USAAF (12 o clock high)
and expect WITP to be good...

To much (deleted)attached to this "free" upgrade, it ain't worth the price tag, and
Theres an old saying, you get what pay for, since it is a FREE thing, one cannot complain about it overmuch since the cost
paid is Nil.

Theres another old saying, "one cannot please Everyone..."

Can't understand the fuss: As an oldtime player of the Japanese side, I've been able to edit literally every aspect of the game. This was true from the advanced versions of Dave Yeager's PacEdit, and is more so with Rich Dionne's excellent Excel version of the editor.

One must remember that the game was created with the expectation most players would want to play the Allies. That is not quite as much a blanket situation now as it was originally, still it is basically a Nimitz-Halsey game, not Yamamoto-Tanaka.

Dig into the game. Particularly the PacHint11 file, which is a mine of information. Create your own version of the Japanese war effort. Better to light one candle than curse the darkness, I believe.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all PacWarriors, new and old.
