Yes as a matter of fact you can, they can be dictated in the shipNames.txt file. I have already imported the Imperial names for it's ISD fleet for use in this mod, which happens to be the Cruiser category for DW. Before release I at least hope to have SSD (Capital) names and Victory Class (Destroyer) names.

I have also imported Star Wars system names as well.

i like how the engine exhausts were done. very original and with astounding effects. A step up from the boring standard ol' engines!

I have plans for the fighter class ships, I am anticipating eventual support for carrier class, plus tie fighters from top down don't look nearly as cool as a say iso look.

Plus there are so many cool looking Imperial combat classes, so it was really hard to include all the favorites. However I am including some extra models for those who would like to use their favorite ships.

I was also surpised by the engine effects on the falcon type freighter, I was unexpected. Plus the reduces beam effects looks more like turbo lasers. I would have the mod out sooner however I have some Army Reserve stuff to take care of.

For the Rebel Alliance I am really thinking of using the xwing as an escort because it has it's own hyperdrive, and the xwing was just a really excellent star fighter, remind me of the p51-mustangs in our galaxy. =-P Plus it still looks good top down view.

I've not had much time to play this yet. So far it feels very Star Wars. lordxorn has done an excellent job with this. I'll just write a quick report on what I've done so far..

I noticed upon starting the game that the size of the Victory Star Destroyers (Destroyer role ships) was a bit small. So I redesigned them to a size of 330 and tried to make the Carrack cruisers (escorts) and Nebulon B Frigates (Frigates) a bit smaller. After retrofitting, it looked a bit odd still. Some Victory class ships were still the same size even though the display stated them as 330! I don't think this is a problem with the mod though (another DW quirk). So I scrapped the defective ships and each ship built after has been to the correct spec.[:)]

Again, kudos to lordxorn. The force is clearly with him.

BTW, lordxorn. Are those Carrack light cruisers being used as escorts?

Yea they are Carrack, I am saving the nebulon-b possibly for the Rebels, only thing is it looks boring top down.

Thanks for the great report and the screens, it looks epic how you have your Victory Star Destroyers positioned after they delivered some Imperial whooping then the troop transport coming for the dirty ground work.

That is also an interesting possible bug report for Erik I will test it as well in regards to components and not sizing correctly, according to official word size is based on total hull size.

I would like to see hard limits on ship designs as far as size and attributes.

First- You shouldn't be able to build a capital ship unless you have the Titan Spaceyard. Classes should be hard limited by hull size.

Secondly- classes should be limited in certain ways to be sure that they are used in their intended role. Like escorts should require a certain minimum speed and have a amount of weapons. At the other end of the scale Capital ships can only move so fast and turn so quick and be more expensive.

Rather than the standard Nebulon B, use the Nebulon B2 (or the 'Modified' frigate). the two angled downward wings will give it a bit of character.

I'm glad I was right about the Carrack cruisers, but I could have sworn the ships you used for the frigates are Nebulon B. Now that I look at them, they don't even resemble Nebulon B's![X(] What kind of ship are they?

That looks excellent!! I was thinking about just the Stormtroopers, but you combined both nicely. On the next version I will add yours. [:)]

More Grey? Do you have an RGB value in mind? I thought they look Imperial enough. =-P
