Progressing nicely I see. Well done. I never ever would have thought that someday I would see PG/PC look like TOAW. It's almost as massive as the "Fire in the East" scenario for TOAW.

to be honest...only since I started placing the units on the map I truly realize how massive this really is...
and I wonder if my projected unit numbers may not be sufficient for the entire map...well..once I placed the entire axis forces, includung minors and air forces, I hope that I have a better overview

Army Group south has completed deployment
3rd and 4 th Romanian Army have moved into positions too
Pending operations are the Hungarian Corps, Romanian, Slovakian, Croatian, Bulgarian and Hungarian stock units, Finnish Army Corps and Finnish stock units...German stock units (AA mostly) , German Baltic Fleet and Air Fleets and Air Forces will be placed last.

Oh..and just on a side note:
95+% of all Infantry and Tank Units have their real names and positions...
Overall about 90% of all ground units have their real names.
Rest 10% is owed to engine limitations to model more sophisticated unit compositions so I had to make use of artistic freedom

Splendid, I love it when there is at least some sort of historic resemblance, it adds to the gameflavour IMO.
I reckon this has 10 times as many units as the largest scenario in PC right?

hmmm...I would call 90+% a bit more than just "some sort of historic resemblance..." [:D]
If the engine would allow to model more sophisticated unit structures and different equipment per unit the number would be 100% but one has to deal with what he has
I dunno how big the biggest PzC scenario is....I havent played all DLC...I think there have been scenarios with 50-60 units in the late eastern camapign...
The one thing that is for sure though is that the map is 25 if not 30 times bigger than the average vanilla PzC Map...average map in PzC has between 2500-3000 hexes and this map has 77024 hexes...

To Chris10 - very nice work!!
This is a great piece of work. Very appreciate it. I look forward to how the game will look like.
Do you have an approximate estimate of how long it takes a computer game?
O 2 World War I have been interested for many years and greatly appreciate your efforts.
Excuse my English.

To Chris10 - Hi, Very nice work!
I was wondering, after the player has played one round, how long it will probably take a computer than played his move.
Sorry my English

thnx Georg...Honestly I dont know how long the AI turn can be but I do know that Gary Grigsbys War in the East the AI turn can take 5+ minutes...Civilization II, III, IV could take between 5-10 minutes depending on map size and unit number (especially some very big mods like the WWII mod).
Since this is meant to be a bordgame I always wanted to have in the basement Iam not really concerned about how long an AI turn takes...it could be 5,10 or 15 minutes. I will have the same fun anyway...if its 10+ minutes I go do something else...just what I have done when we played the boardgames. When I was a boy we have build a 4 meter boardgame in the basement of my friends dads house...it was a super extended XXL version of the original Axis&Allies Boardgame which was banned in Germany back then cause it used original flags (how ridicolous is that ?...[:D])

Little Update: 17.10.2012

So while tired of fiddeling around with units for the moment I compiled a completely new soundtrack consisting of new main menu music and a new ingame soundtrack of 25 minutes which will give the entire game the neccessary epic framework . :D

Finally managed to deploy ALL axis ground units including rear and garrison untis...
479 axis ground units deployed...next is axis air units...then russian ground and russain air

this is exhausting...especially when deploying on correct positions with mostly correct names...once Iam done with
axis air I need a few days off... [:D]

thnx...
net fighting force for Barbarossa maybe around 350 aprox.
Rest is garrison, flak, security and home defense (axis minors)...
and its not advisable to rush rear units to the front until you dont want partisans taking over the entire balkan area and then spread uncontrolled all over germany too...[:D]
