HI ErissN6,
ORIGINAL: ErissN6
My time with the game is: 0.5% playing, 19.5% modding, 80% writing on Ageod forum (half History, half Gameplay).

I say so for maybe you're thinking that I go whining here despite I would play with an otherwise worst UI. No.

people give too much credit to me thinking about things. [;)]

What matters to me is, that you spotted something that is worth trying to improve and might do the game some good. That is were i stopped thinking about your posts and started thinking about how it can be done.

Hope this helps.

Hi terminator,

thanks, hoped it would work for others, too ![:)]

The scenario is indeed a new one, its part of the Soviet Dawn campaign and yes its Rumyantsev the counter strike towards Kharkov.

Hi ronald,

Looking at the screenshot, I wonder if it wouldn’t be better to put the name of the tank "M3 Lee" on a single line in the Nato symbol ?

Yeay! I reinstall the game! Thanks!
Edit: Oh, I hadn't uninstall it. It was waiting long for a 1.09 patch.

Hi ErissN6,

You are welcome.
The release of 1.09 still will take a while, but it will come. Soviet Dawn makes a lot of fun, but also some work as we add new features and remove all bugs from events etc., takes a bit longer than expected all-in-all.

Hi Ronald,

That gives me time to do the remaining scenarios for the 1941 campaign.

- Kharkov - first tests but the scenario still needs to be improved, I put the enemies too close together from the beginning so the current version looks more like a fistfight in a bar than a battle. I also need to figure out a way to make AI defend victory locations, maybe putting stationary units there.
Bryansk and Tula - if there are no surprises on the front of real life, they come by this spring.

Looking at my old Panzer General II database I found a Murmansk scenario for September 1941. It is on battalion scale, like Petsamo - Kirkenes 1944, but has fewer units. Tt could be converted to this game.
The art of war is simple and esay to understand but fighting a war is hard.

That sounds awesome - i glady would help with testing and translating it into German if needed.

Hi Ronald,

The machine translations I make will surely benefit from proofreading by a German.

Kharkov scenario - I could give you the fistfight version as it is but it is not final.

Bryansk - working on the map, what I would really need is to know how to make rivers. That is the only thing I have not learned yet.

Tula - comes last, currently looking at maps and OOBs.

Murmansk - the original map is too large so the game keeps crashing. Unless there is a quick and easy way to increase the memory I will have to cut the map into pieces (can be done with an xml editor, long and boring but doable). Then the scenario becomes a mini campaign.
1. Operation Renntier - mountain rifles move to the Soviet border, while the airfields near Kirkenes receive more planes from Stavanger.
2. Border crossing - attack on the border and Rybachiy peninsula (which AK Norway historically did not capture).
3. Battle on the Litsa river - more or less equal strength but Germany is attacking and crossing the river (of course the Soviets have blown the bridges by then).
Or the mountain rifles reach the river, wait until September and the arrival of the 9th Elite regiment and then attack Murmansk?

The Soviet 1944 scenario could also be a playable mini campaign:
1. The Soviets fight their way to the border.
2. Battles in Norway and Kirkenes.

Looks like a separate theme? I will first finish the missing scenarios for 1941 and then Murmansk comes next as a mini-campaign.
2.

Hi AngrySwan,

if you feel one of the scenarios has all the texts needed and/or is ready to be tested for function & balance just post them here or send me a PM.

As to the rivers, i could make a tutorial either a video or a thread here in the forum. But both take time i have to find. Maybe if there is only a specific thing you do not know about or does not work as you think it should we could resolve this with a view posts here ?

Hi terminator,

of course the same goes for your scenarios...i am always glad to help out.

No, Zvezda is not part of the campaign beacause it would need a lot alternatives as the Soviet historically lost that battle due to Mansteins counter. Else "victory" could have been holding something that will be given up in the briefing. I guess i always had this more as a German mission on the radar because of the result.

While we are at it: i played your Kutno map a few times to get "brilliant" with the "very hard" difficulty. I newer made it. Did you test it that way ? I just want to make sure i try to get something that is possible.

Hi Ronald,

A few posts with a couple of screenshots would do. Let's say you have a map and want to build a river. What is the first step? Do you build a river bed first and then put a river into it or start with a river at once?

The explication is the upgrade to version 1.08 :
• AI equips support units before the first human turn

I corrected the conditions of victory, the scenario is improved.
I will post it soon.

@AngrySwan:

Will cover the river stuff asap. Btw. there will also be three German Battle Honours in 1.09: Lapplandschild, Krimschild and Ostmedallie which you might want to use in your campaign. I will get to you as soon as this is done so you can work on it before the offical release of 1.09.
