I read that. I found this bit highly amusing:
Unfortunately turns can take a hell of a long time to resolve, which can make the medium to latter stages of the game a frustratingly slow experience. It's not uncommon to have to wait a minute or two for each turn resolution.
The entitlement generation is so impatient.
THIS is the best part of the review, while reading it I thought what 10 minutes or what? Then he says 1-2 minutes [X(] I need to continue my game in AGEODs Civil War2 which I bought half a year ago in a sale from another site. I mean this is somewhat smaller in scale then the whole Europe in WW1 but the waiting times there are ok.Also the AI is (with limits) among the better ones in strategy games. Sometimes it can surprise you and doing ok supplying and massing it´s troops. Annoyingly does a lot of raiding which is mostly cav being not esay to catch or contain.
It crahsed twice for me, but there was a fix found on the forum. However after so long time such a fix should be in a patch. That fix makes it run stable like SPWAW and WITPAE. Because I read from crashes in the Napoleon and WW1 game. One can hope that also an easy fix or patch exists making these also run stable like ACW2.
Well I have not the fastest PC (most parts being from 2010 or so) but it is good enough to run such "older" games better perhaps then brandnew PCs when it may go TOO FAST or does not run at all... even SPWAW (with the enhanced update that has a Win7 fix) runs fine on my PC.
And btw. there are a bunch of good games on sale quite cheaply...
Price in this case is not a problem (with some games costing only ca. 10€!) but time playing these games, with 1 PBM and 1 AI of AE I can barely manage.
