I suppose this will make my final report.

I threw back the southern attack, which after more deliberation is thought to have been 2 tank companies, 1 AC company, and 1 infantry company, alongside 2 or 3 platoons of the FT class tanks. I didn't get the chance to really annihilate them and my entire force down there consisted of one PZ38(t) platoon and 1 8-rad AC section. To think something of that size got thrown back something that small boggles my mind. Their determination to advance almost entirely along that stretch of road along the bottom row made it easier to a large extent. If they has spread out more I wouldn't have been able to hold a force that size, much less throw it back. I also wasn't able to finish the job, because PO surrendered around turn 25 (of 42 max).

Anyway, here's the final tally:

GE lost
men-47
artillery-0
soft vehicles-1 (yes, he got that supply truck afterall)
apc's-0
afv's-2
no air units

PO lost
men-1347
artillery-0
soft vehicles-1
apc's-29
afv's-98
no air units

GE:6891 PO:169

A few things I noticed. I think that may be the widest margin I've ever recorded in afv losses. I have shut out the enemy before, but I can't remember ever having 96 more kills than the enemy.

Also I had around 130 total units. PO had, not including crews, 449 (gulp).

Onto the next battle, I was given the option to continue the battle, therefore chasing the enemy on a new map, however, it must be screwed up now because while it correctly didn't allow me to upgrade the core, it gave me like 4042 support points (I'm playing at the normal level [the whole core isn't more than 3300]) for an assault I believe. I reloaded the prior battle's save and this time was presented with an advance. It gave me like 600 upgrade points, so they've obviously jacked with the upgrade points, making it too large in my view, so I guess future campaigns will see me picking the hardest level where it cuts into your upgrade points 20%.

Charles_22,
You misunderstood my "tweaking" of campaign points. In version 6 there are several new campaigns. From other previous versions that I have owned there are campaigns that were not in the new version (such as Soviet 44, France 40, 105 days in Finland, and St Lo) in all of these I went in and tested them and the point values are very low, for example in the St Lo campaign the briefing mentions that you should buy an infantry battalion and a tank platoon. But in fact you only have 652 points. This gave me roughly 2 infantry companies and a section of M4 105's. If you go into MobHack you can see that a lot of units values have changed from the older versions. If the campaign designer has not gone in and redone the scenarios for the campaign then you can see what I mean.
Ah, now maybe my broadfront makes a little more sense now.
No not really. Against the AI perhaps, but against a human it won't work. In some case even against the AI it will fail. For example during the St Lo campaign there are FJ, MMG, panzerfaust teams dug in. In order to destroy these festungs I have had to use 1-2 platoons of infantry, 1 tank and mortar support to eliminate one squad. This also give you mutually supporting units. Having all your units spread out all over the map board results in no support. Also, you mentioned Victory hexes. The AI in both games (WW2 and WaW) is stupid compared to a human. For example you can take a VH and then setup an ambush the AI is so stupid it always will fall for it. In playing against a human this will not happen and more crafty things are needed. Sometimes I just sit back but don't take the VH and wait for the other guys to grab them and slaughter him.
I can see why you believe, at least in the described battle, in a real concentrated attack, because you don't have enough to do otherwise.
Again its not a question of "having enough" its called support. When I first starting PBEM'ing this game I fell into the same sort of mindset as the broad front, kill the enemy and take the VH to advance my core. But after getting crushed in PBEM, you quickly realize that the AI is no match for a human.

When I do a campaign I usually use the hardest setting and set the points at 1000-2000 this gives you more of a challenge against the AI with 1-3 companies. And I save it into one slot only so if Fritz gets toast, then oh well nice knowing you buddy. You can not take back a turn in PBEM or use some other cheat like that.

Right now I have three small campaign's going on:
Stalingrad the factories
St Lo
My only home brewed campaign of just a Panzer Company (I will post it once all the bugs are out)

I do have one hudge (4300) point campaign that I am in the process of porting over to version 6 (from 5.6) and I will post that as well one day.

I honestly think the smaller Panzer Company is much more enjoyable and fun then my Panzer Brigader campaign.
