edit: also check your side-level WRAs. I noted the mission has all inherited. The side looks like its set for the target's defense value of 4 Harpoons. So assuming thats what the mission is folowing.
If any devs look into this this is what WRA looks like when i assign 1 unit in the LUA action .

I wonder if you create the mission with the 'active' flag OFF.
Assign the target and units.
And then turn the mission active flag ON if that would help with the situation. While the event is running, there may be parallel activity happening.

Or
Assign the units to mission first, and then assign the target.

The multi-ship WRA looks correct. It sees all the units as having the same inherited value. If any of the units had a different value, the value would change to 'mixed' or such.

What is the status of this? WAD? Confirmed sim-side flaw? Scripting error? Something else ?

I cannot debug this from the user side . There is no visible clue as to why the ships don't fire . All i can see is that the ships get a targeting vector that says 'auto-pr' the first one fills the targets defense value (allocates 4 missiles) then it sometimes fires 1 sometimes 2 missles ... and they all move to somewhere without a path . I have posted a video
