I agree to the "france is not the only fun nation" praise...
In "my" group we have:
One person always wanna be turkey.
one or two trying to be france and one or two trying to be russia.
usually 3 guys gang up before nations are decided and try to create a strong austria, prussia, britton alliance. maybe a 4th guy in for spain. So almost all countries can be decided by mutual consent.

Never said France is the only "fun" nation to play. That is why I used the word example. Did anyone notice this word in my post?

But, What If this happens?

EDIT: Sorry, I posted that example in another thread: "alternatives to bidding" or something like that. I do believe that the bidding system has to be in place.

Ofcourse "everybody" wants to play france was/is only an example. The same way "my" group is an example of a more dynamic group.

but I still think bidding wopuld only be a nice feature/option since you can set the game up perfectly fine anyway... [;)]

I´ve seen in the forum that the garrisons and depot format have changed. What does it mean?, because it seems that it will take too long to release the game. I hope the changes mean that they are only accepting players suggestions and the designers keep clear ideas.

Is this true? WIERD!!!!

That will be just silly! MG has to put in a bid system for this game to work, otherwise, there will be too much BS.

You honestly think we would allow MG to get away with releasing EIA without some kind of a bidding mechanism?

Easy answer. Get a 3rd party in this forum to accept the bids. I'd be happy to do that if no bid system is available. Do I want it - YES. Can I wait if it will delay anything - NO

NO, but it was mentioned earlier in this thread, or in another, that there wasn't going to be a bidding system, at least according to Yohan's post in this thread. Also, I believe that I read that somewhere else too, but I hope I was having hallucinations.

Hey guys:

It is true that we do not have a bidding system in the initial release. Sorry for the info BUT never-the-less the truth is that we don't have the time to put it in right now. We may look at adding it in an update BUT in the interest of time, roll some dice :-) until/if we add it!

Please understand that we've got 24 months into this project and introducing more delays is not advised! We've got to finish this thing!

Thank you
Thank you

Marshal:

Can you in that case give us any info on how many points you need to win playing certain Major powers? Also, I would suggest you raise initial values need from the original accordingly to reflect there would be no bidding.

I hope the bidding makes it into version 1.1 patch, it sure is an integral part of EiA...

OK, thanks Marshall for beeing so honest.

We can live with it till the bidding system in the first patch if it is not too much asking.

As someone asked you, the VP are a base that has to be completed with the bid.

If no bids are use, 99% of the times FR or GB will win, in this order IMO.

I understand that MG wants to finish it and start selling and I will buy the game ASAP.
I really think that IT IS A MUST for PLAYABLE pbem game a bidding system.

Maybe they can add a feature to introduce manually the biddings at the begining if it is not too much asking, so we can do the bidding by ourselfs and add them to the final VPs needed for each country.

Another question I didnt read anything and I think is important is about the movement order.

I think FR and GB should inform everybody before moving WHEN are going to move.
So the countries order and garrisons in cities and depots (BTW, I love the new depots, like in the original game graphics Marshall, thanks!) SHOULD ALWAYS be visible in the screen.

Thanks you again for your effort Marshall and time with us.

Good Post. This is just straight fact. Bidding is a must. It is an integral part of the game (as someone said earlier).

If you could get it into the first patch, that would be great. Or like he said, be able to manually change the VP totals.

It is a good idea and perhaps not to comlicated to implement...

Yes, we have a ****ty cavalery, wonder why...we didnt have much but it was not that bad....IMO.
[:-]

On what do you base your opinion. In any of the battles or encounters I have read, its usually because the Spanish cavalry leg it and expose the flanks of their infantry to French Cavalry. In general the infantry are staying the pace until that happens! [;)]

Carry on the great work chaps I content myself with checking out the forums once in a while to see when the release is happening and where and when I can buy it in the UK.

all the best.
