I know what you mean, I'm using irrlicht for 3d, newton for physics, raknet for tcpip and audire for sound so far, not making so much on my own, and still learning - probably akin to learning latin. No money out of hand so far. Btw Deled is a good 3d model prog and there is a plugin available in their forums to export to .obj.

Are any missions or campaigns available yet?
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

I have made a custom mod with modeled fighter cockpits and a variety of new warships with custom weapons. All models are complete and functional. All spacecraft have modeled cockpits complete with pilots.

Hi,

You have tweaked my interest in creating cockpits for at least my Fighter and Attack craft.

Could you share the method you used to acheive this? [:)]

I am supposing you created a cockpit .mag file.

Has anyone come up with a method to have craft struts show up while in the F1 position?

PM me if you desire with the information.

Thanks.

Hi,

What follows are some basic observations I made while checking out your creations.

These are minor discrepencies. Take them as such.

When the gear on the Aries Int is raised or lowered, one sees part of the gear in the cockpit.

On the Aries Int the missile fins pertrude up and into the ships wings. Their muzzle position should be lowered by 1 or 2 points. [:'(]

Oh... by the way... interesting designs. Shows imagination. [;)]

2 missions are avail with the d/l, haven't made any more so far

I'll look into lowering the missiles and hiding that gear a little more, just me not polishing up.

The method I used for the cockpits is pretty simple, I modeled them as part of the model. And I did make a cockpit.mag, just because I like making components. The chase view is located inside the model itself. To make the cockpit glass I enabled a transulcent/tranparent layer and used specular 1+2 as they look like glass.

I don't know how to change the f1 view properties, that would require some code change, but i'll look into it. The problem with my method is that I sacrifice the fixed chase view.

I hope this helps.

Personally, I seldom use the chase view except when playtesting missions. Building a cockpit and using the F2 view is ingenious. I'll have to start experimenting with creating glass like layers.

Thanks for the information. [:)]

Salutations,

I just discovered your flight deck strobe lighting while testing one of your missions. A very nice detailed touch. Well done. [:'(]

How in the world did you come up with the proper sequence. Impressive.
