24th April - allies seem well over extended but land in the PI , Allied plane losses are high with some mis timed attacks.
I had some Okha attacks at night go in no hits at all - is 1000 feet night naval attack any use ?

Into May 44
First B29A raid lands on Singapore , poor prep , no recon and extended range against good fighters ensures heavy losses but tankers still burn - what a pain.

1-6TH June
Japanese forces land men and supplies in n PI ( under his nose!)- while allied subs sit around Okinawa. Japanese aircraft overwhelm allied P38 and P51 defenders to sink a CA and damage 3 slow BB with TT. We also think we put one TT into an Iowa class BB.

Mid May 44
Allies are making us weaker in Burma but in PI we hjave them a bit bogged down
Loads of Japanese troops arriving in north PI under his nose. Just out of range of his CV which always remain static.
My CV are upgrading planes and AA in HI we are not quite ready to take him on but we will soon. (In this mod in mid 44 J gets some new AA weapons - much better but not quite as good as the allies but they are a big help). We have to watch he does not get a chance at Manila or our oil convoys will be impossible.

15- 23rd May 44
Action focused on PI and allied advance toward Manila. Allied have unexpected loss in Indian Ocean. A map next time with my opinions on game play.

Upto 1st June 44
Ongoing fighting in PI , next turn a map with what I feel are the allied errors in this new campaign. Not lone raider ( which is a very delicate ship actually) Kage continues to annoy. Kage was built end 41 when interest was new in long range raiders, low armour, high fuel and fairly modest guns and TT for the tonnage. Her sister was sunk in early 42.
Patch in a few days.

June 22nd 1944
2nd B29 raid on homeland cases a lot of fires - but also suffers quite heavy losses.
B29 flit in and out of China, Burma under land pressure. Allied subs take losses ( mainly as he does not move them much).
oil is in crisis in HL. Mainly due to SS losses and a nasty raid also by B29 on Singapore a few weeks ago - really hammered my lift capacity for that item.
We plan an offensive against the PI supply chain route around the end of July. We hope to isolate all allied forces in PI.

Big patch of balances, chrome and enhancements - imminent

If you set your oil settings to "stockpile" on a rail line on the Malayan peninsula, you can move oil by ship past that to say Saigon and thence it will flow up to Hanoi/Haiphong and beyond, but if you need to you can then ship it to Hong Kong or Canton where it should move up to Shanghai, Manchuria, and/or Fusan.Cavalry Corp wrote: Tue Jan 23, 2024 9:36 pm June 22nd 1944

Moulmeim fell on 22nd July 1944 – well, it was a long under semi-siege in the end. They just wore me down and out of all supply. Hope they cannot exploit it too much. Bankok will be the next targetI am sure. We need more supply there but have good planes and quite a lot of good land units.
My attention is on the PI.
I am planning a massive trial of strength with all my CV and surface units to cut them off and eliminate them. That will bring the war to a stalemate of sorts, I think.
I am planning this for late July once my CV are refitted and we have more new and better planes.
He only has one big ( massive) base which we will reach with massive LBA sweeps and then surface bombardments.
We are building up LBA as well in PI and not showing any strength.
In the meantime, these are the mistakes the allied player is making.
Wasting B29 on low-level attacks ( though even they have been troublesome).
Wasting subs by not moving them once detected – this is a big mistake, plus we know where they are.
Failing to isolate the objective with LRCAP or in the case of PI by allowing massive reinforcement in the north from Formosa by sea. If he had done this PI would have been in his hands already.
Narrow paths of advance that rely on just a few ( far too few ) airbases. The main strength of the allies, which is LBA, cannot be fully deployed.
In this mod, Japan has more lift capacity by sea and air – but its easy to get to grips with.

More air action - then still . Both sides building for action end July when I plan my big counter attack to isolate PI.
