Ha ! I've got 4 divisions sitting at Noumea.....your most welcome to try.

Luskan is now in a tough situation, he has the choice of sitting tight and waiting for me to come to him, which will have a high cost to me, or gamble it all and try for an auto victory. My troops have not yet been touched and all are fresh with high moral and low distruption, well infact they have NO distruption, and on top of this I have loads of ships flowing into Noumea from Pearl, including CVs. What is poor Luskan to do? On the plus side for him, he has at least 10 CVs and has been building his bases for the last 6 months....does he sit tight and blast me as I come for him? Or does he roll the dice? Time will tell.

I see that he has a fast transport TF trying to run the blockade at PM, most will slip past, but no all.

Well, Raver is certainly right that I am soon going to have to make a decision.

Most IJN players would be happy that I have a definite and permanent advantage in CVs thanks to my early victories, but Raver's surface fleet will still be able to contend with mine - and far more importantly Raver's massive USN transport fleet is almost undamaged - I've only sunk 20 or 25 of his transports.

Fortunately, I've dropped a couple of smaller, slower CVEs from my CV tf (UNYO only moves at a speed of 20!). Means I've only got 550 aircraft + foat planes to hammer at Raver, but increases my speed to at least as fast as his CVs can run.

My CVs have moved south, just north of Rockhampton, and have cornered a transport TF running from townsville home (pity I didn't have any surface ships handy - they would have ripped them to shreds in port, but they're all running emergency supplies and troops to PM).

More exciting: 3 CAs, 3 DMS, 9 or 10 DDs, reported at Rockhamtpon, and another dozen APs, 3 MSWs, dozen DDs and 2 BBs reported at Brisbane. I've cornered a large chunk of Raver's fleet - and I'm hoping that his CVs are amongst them.

Without those CVs his game will be pretty much over. In other news, Nells and Betties launched a big strike on Raver's new flyspeck island base, just south of Gavigamana, catching an AK or so.

No one ever said Raver was dumb (well, I think I did at some stage, but anyway ;)

He's packed all his p-38s, beaufighters, just about every good fighter he's got into Brisbane on CAP. He had wirraways, warhawks, kittyhawks and airacobras packed into rockhampton. So obviously I hit Rockhampton rather than brissy. The combat report was way off - my losses aren't nearly as bad as it says here.

If I'd lost 44 zeroes this turn I'd be down to 502 planes on my CV decks - but I still have 528 (out of 550). I have only lost one kate and no vals so far and my naval bomber exp is all in the 70s - my zeroes are even better. All arms of my air forces are still very, very highly experienced (70 or above) with the notable exception for my float planes (50s), 2 of my 20 level bomber groups (50s), and my 2 land based val squadrons (low 50s) - and although one group of Oscars is 73 exp, the newer one is at 49. Plenty of training going on around the place to get those up to scratch.

However, my sub has snagged two easy kills (and no one is depth charging at him yet) and at a guess I've now totalled 10 transports off the Aussie coast, and 2 over near Luganville in 3 turns. More than I expected - so my CVs go home for some R+R before their next surprise visit to Raver-ville.

Best thing Raver could have done was to get some bombers out after my (unprotected, uncapped, seperate from my CVs) tankers. I had a CL and a dozen DDs escorting those tankers (they'd just done a supply run to PM and were on hand) but I've had to refuel my CVs twice to get this far south and stay there. If he'd got those tankers with a sub or something I would have had to go home almost immediately.

All the transports I sank were AKs, which Raver probably wouldn't have used for an invasion anyway. Still haven't sunk enough transports - need to stop his plague-like spread north from Luganville, and make it a pain in the neck to supply his 50-odd little bases.

Regardless of what the AAR says, with or without FOW, my fighter boys did a stirling job! Most of these lads have exp of 61, and they all gave a good accounting......even more so when Luskan says that his fighter-jocks are exp 70's !

Pearl is starting to piss me off....only moderate release of ships! If they don't buck their ideas up I will send Luskan the routes through the mine fields of PH, and let them worry about him!

Raver's subs have found some form. The trip to PM is getting damned dangerous (still necessary though, lots and lots of troops at GG and PM that need food, butter, guns, etc.

Raver's CVs sighted at Noumea - will have to see if I can't skrag at least one of them on my next CV sortie.

My plan for PM is to do to it what Germany tried (and nearly did) to the UK......Sub warfare ! Strangle the little so and so! Then follow up with 200 bomber raids! I will make you wish that you had never heard of PM!:D

We're talking about American subs here? Heck, at this point in the war, you're better off telling them just to park their boats in some Aussie port and enjoy the women for a year. :D

Your timing, as usual, is shite.
Will be touring the middle (Uluru, Kakadu, etc.) of this great land of Oz with my better half from the 3rd of May for two or three weeks - maybe a month.

Fortunately, she is letting me take a laptop with me (mobile i'net connection rules) so turns will not be affected unless I've gone bush (no more than a day or two at a time is the plan).

As for the game, Raver's subs are having success, as is his ASW. Also, his b17s got off a 71 bomber raid on Lunga while I was napping and put some scratches in the paint.

Do we get some sort of prize for hitting 5000 views on our AAR??

Ironic that my other half's preferred destination for our "big trip" was to visit some rainy, rat infested hell hole called Melbourne, where we could visit her extended family (joy of joys  ) and go shoe shopping (for her of course - she has more shoes than I have socks).

Anyhue - back to important matters - those pertaining to grinding Raver into a pathetic whimpering lump of submission!

USS Tambor suffered not 1, not 2, but 3 (!!!!) depth charge hits and sank south of GG. My hunter killer group did extraordinarily well, with 3 ships out of 20 (all 20 were picked for their ASW capabilities) detecting the sub and launching depth charges. One ship even launched 8 at the sub (only minor damage from one hit), but the two salvoes of two depth charges from following APDs finished her off.

Of course, now they're a-hunting for the S-44, which just put a torpedo into an empty TK north of GG.

Raver's BBs reported at Efate - probably too far behind his net of 8 little bases however. How the hell he is going to keep all those places individually supplied beats me (Especially after I take Luganville).

Major fleet elements involved in the battle of Rockhampton harbour have returned to port and are repairing damage (from the weather - Raver didn't get to shoot anything at me the whole battle long) before their next surprise strike, which should be sooner than Raver thinks.

Almost 5000 views - hope you mods have thought of something appropriate and tasteful to celebrate. Home delivered cases of beer would be acceptable - but seeing as we're doing such a great job of publicising this great game for Matrix, maybe they should think about sending (as an honorarium) us the first two finished copies of WITP so we can do an "exhibition" game and AAR - of course, I'm willing to do that for free ;)
