Turn 5. May/June 1940. Axis #1 (continued).

[ax] Rail. Germany x 1.
(1) 5-1 garrison. Zagreg, Yugoslavia to Warsaw, Poland.

[ax] Land Movement Summary. Germany.
(1) Guderian and his army captures the open city of Strasbourg, France and dismantles the Maginot line defenses in that hex.
(2) LXXXV garrison army, which last turn dismantled the Maginot line SW of Strasbourg, moves SW 1 hex along the road and dismantles the last Maginot line hex.
(3) A Germany infantry army exploit the breech in the French line across from the Ardennes to move within 2-hexes (directly east) of Paris.
(4) In Southern France, von Leeb and his army move to consolidate axis positions in the French Alps with the intention of breaking out into Southern France.
(5) Numerous German corps continue their movement from Yugoslavia to the Western Front.
(6) In Poland, German defense forces there converge on the partisan that's taken control of the RP and town of Katowice.

[ax] Land Combat. Germany x 1.
(1) vs Lyons MIL in Metz (hex directly west of Metz)
(2) +18.5 Assault*
(3) No air or other reactions possible.
(4) Fractional=552, no.
(5) 2D10=9, result=27.
(6) MIL destroyed, no flips or losses for the Germans and hex taken.

[ax] *combat was suppose to be a blitz but forgot to include a mech or armor. Could have been costly if I had rolled poorly (i.e., 4 or less). Especially since my eng div was being used to undouble river penalty for the SS corps.

[ax] Air Rebase. Germany
(1) Bf 109 E-3. Saarbrucken, German to Reims, France.
(2) Bf 110 C. Brussels, Belgium to France 55,32.
(3) Ju 52 ATR. Liege to Brussels, Belgium.
(4) He 111H. Antwerp to Belgium 54,33.

[ax] Air Rebase. Italy.
(1) SM.79 LND3. Belgium 54,33 to Germany 57,34.

[ax] That ends my impulse. No HQ reorg possible so it went to allied DOW step.

[ax] JvR-05-MJ40-AL03.zip game turn sent.

The Western Front.
