RE: Reverse 4-player AAR.
There has been some delay while the Axis work out their next steps.
The process has been lengthy as opinion on the way to proceed has been split. This difference in opinion has gone right through German society, those of its Axis allies and various other interested parties.
Reflecting the fact that Germany is a dictatorship, it has been decided to involve all parties in a discussion on the matter with a view to holding a referendum with one simple question: Should the Wehrmacht declare war on neutral Belgium? There have thus been debates, focus groups, polls taken, radio appearances - while social media (whatever that is) has gone into overdrive - or viral as I think it is said.
The result of the referendum was for an attack on Belgium. However a Sudeten German living in Berlin said that the result of the Referendum was irrelevant and that the Reichstag needed to vote on the matter before any such declaration could be made.
As a result, and much to his chagrin, Hitler had to suspend his dictatorship which was previously granted under emergency powers, and instead reconvene Parliament.
It looked like the Reichstag was going to vote for cessation of all hostilities and a return to peace. Fearing his plans for Lebensraum going up in smoke, Adolf Hitler thus came up with a middle ground solution to appease the hawks and the doves. This was reluctantly agreed by all parties.....
As a result could the Allies let me know the placement of their Dutch units please? (I think this is easier than sending back the file as you should both have the latest file from the end of the previous turn).

RE: Reverse 4-player AAR.
The Supreme Commander Of The Armed Forces.
Berlin.
20th November, 1939.
Directive No. 8 For The Conduct Of The War
1. Following the recent referendum and Reichstag voting nonsense, a high state of preparedness must be maintained in order to deliver, at a moment's notice, the offensive which is being mounted. Only thus will it be possible to take immediate advantage of favourable weather.
The Armed Forces will make their preparations in such a way that the offensive can still be delayed even if orders for this delay reach Commands as late as A-Day-1, 2300 hours. At this hour at the latest Commands will receive the codeword, which will be either:
Holland
Edam Cheese (proceed with offensive) or
Cloggs (delay offensive).
Belgium and France
Stella Artois (proceed with the offensive) or
Brie (delay offensive)
Commander In Chief Army and Commander In Chief Air Force are requested, immediately after the date of the offensive has been decided, to report to the High Command of the Armed Forces, Operations Staff (Defence Department), the time which they have agreed for the beginning of the attack.
2. Contrary to earlier Directives, all measures planned against Holland may be taken without special orders when the general offensive opens.
The attitude of the Dutch forces cannot be foreseen. Where no resistance is offered, the invasion will assume the character of a peaceful occupation.
3. Land operations will be conducted in accordance with the Operation Order of 29th October.
That Order is supplemented as follows:
(a) All precautions will be taken to enable the main weight of attacks to be switched from Army Group B to Army Group A should the disposition of enemy forces at any time suggest that Army Group A could achieve greater success.
(b) Holland, including the West Frisian Islands, but (for the time being) excluding Texel), will be occupied in the first instance up to the Grebbe-Meuse line.
4. If Raeder and Donitz can be arsed, the Navy will undertake the blockade of Belgian ports and sea lanes and, contrary to former Directives, those of Holland also. For submarines this action is authorised on the night preceding the offensive; for surface craft and aircraft from the moment of attack by the Army. The interval between the initiation of blockading operations and the time of the attack by land must, however, be kept as brief as possible even where submarines are concerned.
Operations against the Dutch Navy will be undertaken only if the latter displays a hostile attitude.
The Navy will assume responsibility for the defence by coastal artillery of occupied areas of the coast against attack from the sea. Preparations for this will be made.
5. The tasks of the Air Force are unchanged. They have been amplified by the Special Orders given verbally by The Leader for airborne landings* and the support of the Army in capturing the bridges west of Maastricht. *Note: Please ignore this, I understand Student is still on holiday and hasn’t finished training the paratroopers.
Therefore 7th Airborne Division won’t be used for parachute landings only after the bridges across the Albert Canal are in our hands. When this occurs, immediate communication between Commander In Chief Army and Commander In Chief Air Force must be ensured.
Neither in Holland nor in Belgium-Luxembourg (if and when we get around to the latter) are centres of population, and in particular large open cities and industrial installations, to be attacked without compelling military necessity.
6. Frontier Control
(a) Until the opening of the attack, traffic and communication across the Dutch, Belgian, and Luxembourg frontiers will be maintained at a normal level in order to ensure surprise. Civil authorities will make no preparations to close these frontiers until the beginning of the attack.
(b) Upon the opening of the attack the frontiers with Holland, Belgium, and Luxembourg will be closed to all traffic and communications of a non-military character. Command In Chief Army will issue the relative orders to the military and civil authorities concerned. At the beginning of the attack the High Command Of The Armed Forces will inform the highest Government authorities that Commander In Chief Army is issuing direct orders for the closing of the frontiers and that these will include the Dutch frontier outside the theatre of operations.
(c) On the other frontiers between the Reich and neutral States, no restrictions on frontier traffic or communications will be applied on the opening of the offensive. Further measures for the control of the passage of persons and communications have already been prepared and will be enforced as necessary.
7. Can someone update me on what the hell is going on in Bulgaria and Italy please?

Throw of 7. The US Congress, delighted that Hitler has reconvened parliament, is only mildly concerned that defenceless, neutral Holland has been subsequently invaded.

The German High Command decides to try and conquer Holland and obtain bases north of Brussels ahead of any attack on Belgium or France. For this purpose, General Ritter von Leeb is given command of two armies – 18th Army (von Kuchler) and 6th Army (von Reichenau).
The Germans know that the Dutch will almost certainly abandon the east of the country and seek to defend ‘Fortress Holland’ using General Winkelman’s I Corps. To counter this, a pincer operation is planned. The operation is planned to start at 04:00hrs on the 22nd November 1939. The code word “Edam Cheese” is delivered to units throughout von Leeb’s army group.
The Northern Pincer:
The XLVIII Panzer Corps (3rd and 4th Panzer Divisions) race to their objective – the Friesland coast – by-passing areas of resistance and leaving the follow-up infantry of XLIII and XXVI Corps to mop up any Dutch troops defending forward of the Grebbe Line. The panzers are reinforced by the Herman Goering Panzer Division, coming up from the south. By the 24th, 18th Army is in position and ready to attack.
Southern Pincer:
For 6th Army the journey to the Grebbe Line is shorter, but there are many obstacles to overcome – not least Winkelman’s forward screen. Like the northern pincer, by the 24th the southern arm – led by the XLVI Mechanised Corps (9th Panzer, 20th Motorised and the SS Verfungstruppe Divisions) - is in position too for the assault on the Dutch capital.

The Dutch 2nd Division bravely held their ground east of Rotterdam sufficiently delaying the Germans and saving the port from capture.
The efforts of KG1 and KG3 are sufficient to bring the attack up to automatic status.

A nice win for the Germans, but why no port strike? The choice could cost many Axis subs thiers life, inorder to get the same result at sea.
Now I like to see what the allies will respond with. Thier TRS status is not so good, they could any way send a army and division to Rotterdam, right?
( But now Waspite ended the turn on a 1 so not so easily for the Allies any more)
