Don't have to worry about punks on the lawn today.  Their gonna be busy drinking beer, eating pizza and watching the super bowl.

Come to think of it, so will I.

Now if AE were released...............

Super Bore is more like it. I will watch bits and pieces of it, but I certainly don't regard it as something worthy of a feast, no matter who is playing. The two week layoff after the championship games really cheapen the playing ability considerably. This wouldn't happen to be an NBC broadcast would it? It's quite a bit better, as they dont' feel compelled to go to commercial breaks every time somebody sneezes, but this being the Super Bore, they would probably go the way of the other networks on such a particular occasion for gobs of extra money.

In short, you can't be a genuine geezer and enjoy the Super Bore. Oh, you will watch a little of it, just enough to put a shotgun blast into the set after you've been through the upteenth commercial break or the gaudy halftime.

I actually don't watch the superbowl...but beer and pizza ..yum! The commercials are usually the best part of the game. Fortunatley you can usually see the funniest on youtube after the game! [:)]

Yes, that's a real sad state of affairs for what they would lead you to believe is the ultimate game in sports, to have it show commercials which will run the length of the, what, 5 plus hours of it, and never be shown again. In my case, the fact that they have special commercials is all the more reason not to watch it, as I have a major gripe about how frequently the NFL, and/or networks, go to commercial breaks anyway. To think you have, one basic game, some 3 hours of time used, and only 60 minutes of it are what you would consider the game proper, and even a great deal of that is just guys walking back and forth to huddles. I'm really down on football, not just because of the things I've mentioned, but those are the primary reasons.

I found out, rather sadly, just yesterday, through looking on their website, that my ol' junior high no longer has a football team. They may not had been able to find a coach in time I don't know, but it is sad nonetheless. I know if I were a kid I would want my parents to send me elsewhere. I bet they won't even let the kids play tackle football at recess either, as I know that pansy movement comes and goes at the area schools every now and then.

A multi-tasking geezer is someone who can snort, cough, sneeze, spit, pee and fart all at the same time.

My sincere apologies. I was just (quite correctly ) reminded, that 8 tracks were "new-fangled" 1970's technology.....LP's forever baby! [:D]

I did mention it, and I suspected that the movie got this whole thing started somehow or other.

The original geezer thread predeed the release of the movie. When it was yanked out and sent to exile in the general discussion forum , this one was created to replace it.
