If I set - for example - my Northwest Front HQ to supply priority 4, does that priority

a) only apply to this HQ and any units directly attached to it?

or

b) apply to all HQs and units below this HQ in the command chain?

Answer is B page 313
to all HQs and units below this HQ in the command

Great, thanks

After transfer to a new airbase all my damaged aircrafts are lost.
Also in the order of battle these damaged aircrafts are missing. Where are they?

"Lost and/or got transit pool. Depends on plane damage pct and air base isolation status"

To view the Transit Pool, go to Production, then at the bottom click on "All Pools" twice.

Is there somewhere that past withdrawals are listed? I sometimes find a unit missing, but I have no idea why. I generally ASS-U-ME that it was withdrawn, but am not 100% certain. This is especially the case with air units (in my current game a buttload of units just disappeared, and I'm thinking they were withdrawn, and know at least some were, but would like to be able to see for sure).

In the campaign - which I haven't started - it might be nice to know where they went as well.

Not that I know of. Best is to load a prior save and go to the reinforcement/withdrawal screen. Or load the scenario in the editor and look at the screen there to see what's coming and going. In the editor you can press the w key to switch sides.
All understanding comes after the fact.

If I have understood the rules in 23.6.1. correctly then just the immediate hq will allocate support units to a battle. Why should I want to have my SU at OKH-level?

construction units can be handy at that level, as they can then be allocated fairly widely.

OKH/Stavka can be handy either to hold SU that you are not yet sure/ready to allocate on or as a place to refit low TOE SU (only really happens if also on a NSS) as opposed to sending back to the reserve.

but in general, get your combat related SUs into the immediate tier of HQs commanding your combat units (so corps for the axis, army for the Soviets)

read 13.1.3, basically:

also 13.3.6 for some limits.

Easiest way if the unit meets the criteria above is to change the HQ on the unit tab to the desired theatre.

I have some Italian torpedo bombers pulled to reserve for several turns, but I can't bring them to the map.

Neither selecting AOG or air group via airport screen let's me choose the Italians planes. I can select all german aog and air groups but not the italians. Even if I choose italian bomber aog, the torpedo bombers don't show up!

check the air proflies, I suspect you have no suitable AOG that can hold them on-map

what is this symbol?

Post by Phoenix100 »

I still find it hard to locate stuff in the manual. Can't wait to get a hard copy. I've looked all over for the meaning of the symbol ringed in the picture below. Anyone enlighten me, please? But also, so I can learn how I'm failing to find such things, where in the manual is this info, about this symbol, found? Anyone know?

Many thanks.

loki, I got 4 questions regarding the depots popup window. I cannot find this infos in manual.

(1.) When you hover over a depot and look at the first line (where population is shown) in popup, what does the (number) in parentheses mean behind the word "port"?
I thought it means the level of the depot (f.e. level 2 for import port), but this number seems not to show the port level, because it is always 3 at every port in my game (even for export ports). Then I thought it is the size of the port - but it isn´t the size.

(2.) Some depots show in the depot popup values f.e. "Rail: 30.000 : 30.000" - what did this values mean? I think, first value is the free rail capacity and second is the max rail capacity in this hex/depot?

(3.) When clicking the button in topbar which shows a train icon.. there are circles with values at some depots at the map - did this values show the free rail capacity at this hex (same value as shown in depots popup "30.000:30.000")?

(4.) Why are these circles at the depots not shown at every depot?

Thanks again for your help[&o]

1- (2) is for an import port, (3) for an export port - its in 25.7.1 but not explicitly repeated elsewhere (should have been)

2 - capacity - see below but the first number is the theoretical maximum, the second number is the current max, usually relates to railyard damage

3 - I think so, not too sure what you are referring to but if its the number inside the circle that shows when you press F2 then its the remaining rail capacity (ie trains) at that location

4 - only shows if the railyard is size 2 or more as that is where the rail movement capacity is generated. Note the number is also reduced from its notional value if the railyard is damaged

Neuromancer - yes many posts ago but Withdrawals are listed in the Event Log. Not under the Withdrawals section (too obvious) but in the Arrivals (!) section. Note the 'from MAP to Western Europe' entries:
