Progress

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

In fact the aim is to include the tutotial movies and the WHat's New movie with the demo.

Thanks for the updates Arjuna. Everything is looking great - another huge improvement on the game!

I think that the demo is on the best things to come of BotB. Many players are missing out on a great game. I think that the demo - especially if the full tutorial can be included - will help bring many of the fence sitters over.

Good luck in the home stretch!

It'll be important for the demo to include enough content for players to get a pretty good idea of what the game is about. I suggest at least one fairly lengthy scenario.

Long demos aren't usually given, as some people just play that 5 times to get their fix, then don't buy.
I suspect we'll be seeing a 2-day demo.

The intent now is to provide just the Tutorial scenario, along with the tutorial movies. The Tutorial scenario runs for four days. It starts with a US armoured combat command ( Bde size ) up against a German Inf Regt. Over the course of the scenario the US side is build up to a Division. I won't tell you what the Germans get, as that would giving away too much.

Now that is brilliant!

I can learn the game through the demo and decide if the game is for me. Absolutely a brilliant idea.

Thanks Arjuna!

While I am really looking forward to this next installment - Arjuna and the development team should be congratulated for making sure that it is a truly finished and stable game that comes out even though it takes a little longer.

CoTA is a superb game - not only from the point of view of playability but also stability, and the extra effort to get it right really does show.

I agree with 7th Somersets. Not only COTA is the state of art of military simulation but botb pushes even farther and promises to be a huge game.

I'd really say *historical* in the gaming industry meaning since there's no real time games of such magnitude as COTA.

Am really looking forward to Botb!

No we won't be including any HTTR scenarios in BFTB. There's already 27 scenarios included. As I have said before, we will be reviewing future development options after BFTB. An HTTR expansion pack will be in the mix of options, but I'm not prepared to commit to that at this stage. The focus will be on providing data content sooner rather than later.

Understood.............27 scenarios is absolutely awesome!!

There was also some talk earlier of including updated/converted HTTR estabs with BFTB. Is that still a possibility?? Or is it now a post-BFTB possible future development option??
Thanks.

Rob,

Our aim is to update the estabs to cater for a future HTTR expansion pack or second edition. But we are not guaranteeing it. It will depend on time available.

Ya for wide screen support, is fair to assume that most people have wide screen monitors? Or at least rigs that are less than a couple of years old!

Wondering if the 'Match current screen resolution' would stretch (no pun intended) to a petite 1024 x 600?

No you will need a minimum of 1024 x 768. We just can't fit all the info required in anything less. I debated long and hard about actually increasing the min hight. I would like more vertical space for the sidebar, so we could display both unit data and the OB display at the same time. But that will have to wait for now.

Hi all,

Today I finally got the armament estab views working. Now you can access the estab data for a vehicle weapon. You select a unit, select its Equipment and Supply tab, double-click on the vehicle you want to examine and then double-click on the weapon form the vehicle armaments list.

That's wonderful Arjuna, thanks.
Now, all you guys out there, don't let this enhancement lead you to make Dave's efforts result in him being held a hostage to fortune. In other words do not start posting links to websites that contradict all that great data that is now accessible in this game! We all know that the Lee Enfield 303 Mk III was used in Kohima by the 3rd Gurkha Rifles as a club and the game engine does not allow for that use. So don't start! OK? [:'(]
