New one should work.
Also there is 2.0.0.3 - https://github.com/DW-UX/DistantWorldsE ... .0.3-beta

Have you copied all files and folders from beta zip to DWU folder? They contains Net.9.0.3 runtime that error say you are missing. Also check that you unlocked zip after downloading.

Alvek, there is an audio issue with the latest 2.0.0.3 version. The music sounds slow and choppy. I don't recall this issue with previous versions, but I cannot be absolutely sure.

In some version I changed music player, because player from stable version is causing critical errors sometimes. So it possible that there is bugs with new one.
Does music sound off right from game launch in start menu or during game ? How much UPS at the moment if it during game?

The music sounds sluggish and choppy at the start menu and also in-game. With the last 1.01.01 version everything is perfect. Not sure what you mean by UPS in-game?

In-game there are UPS (update per second) counter in right upper corner, near money. What number it displays?
I only have music stutter during loading game when there is high load on CPU

Ah, ok. When I get back home to the game, I’ll report the UPS.

Sorry about that, I realized 7zip was the issue. Once I extracted with WinRar it had the missing folders.

Still not sure what problem with music could be, other player reported that even with 1 UPS there is no problem with music. Try to check CPU load in menu and game too. If it above 80-90% then problem is that player don't have enough resources to play music. But then start menu shouldn't cause high CPU load :?

One more question, does this mod use LAA to increase memory usage?

Beta version is x64 only. Latest stable is AnyCPU and use x64 if possible. So there is no need for LAA

Good news, Alvek! I re-installed the latest EM 2.0.0.3 and that music stutter has somehow disappeared! The UPS count is around 60. I don't understand why but the music seems to be working ok now.

That is good, because I have no idea why it would stutter without high load on CPU

Version 2.0.0.5-beta
Fixed rare critical bug on start menu load
Improvement for performance of fighters and ships in view, some pirate logic. Now old galaxy with lot of ships and fighters should be playable if you keep zoom on level above sector\galaxy. Drawing large number of ships and fighters still problem and lead to 1 UPS, but now zooming out will somewhat fix that. MladoTouan reported improvement from 1 UPS to 30-60 UPS on very old galaxy on x1 speed
Change of logic for -- prefix for bases, now you need to use new hotkey for that to work

Alvek, even with the latest 2.0.0.5 version, the music stuttering comes and goes, it's a strange, irregular issue. Not always, but mostly. Odd. But I've discovered it has something to do with the default Distant Worlds Universe save game folder created in the Windows Documents folder. I've tried deleting it for the game to create a new folder, and the music sounds ok. But as I keep restarting the game, the music stutter comes back. So it may have to do with the automationPrefs, defaultOptions, and GameSummaries files?

So if you delete that folder then there is no problem with music every time?

Well, yes, sort of. If I delete it altogether and have the game create an entirely new Distant Worlds Universe folder in Documents, the first time I launch the game menu the music is ok. Usually the second, third, fourth time the game starts up, the music "may" be ok. But the fifth time, for example, then the music sounds sluggish and stutters. But this "may" happen earlier, maybe the fourth or third time the game starts up, like I said, it's not consistent. Really strange.

In other words, with an entirely newly created Distant Worlds Universe in Documents, the first time the games starts up the music is fine. But any other instance beyond the first time the game starts up, eventually the music issue comes up, sooner or later. The only other factor I can think of that might help you is creating an .exe shortcut. And alernate starting the game up with .exe or the shortcut. Maybe that has an odd influence?

Just to be clear, I have never, ever encountered this music problem with any of the builds of the Expansion Mod v. 1.

Try this fix, looks like buffer is too small and disk is not fast enough to read next part of song. Tripled buffer size, should help.

YES! I noticed it's version 2.0.0.6. I've started the game up several times... the music sounds ok!! I think you've got it! Still, my Mini PC is latest generation Intel Ultra 9 185H, the onboard SSD is fast. But your hotfix seems to have corrected the music issue. THANK YOU!

If anything else comes up, I'll let you know...
