As long as you give it a different name (Epsom extended version or something [;)]) I'm fine with it.

I made two edits to the map: I in the Map Maker, I selected the "minor river" layer, and changed the motorized movement modifier from 5 to 0. I did the same thing for "forest".

Don't forget to regenerate the map data, and the cache file.

I'm also playing around with the VP locs, and I'm trying to add some AI VP locations for 1st day attacks along the line- I think having the "big point" locations active right away induces the AI to simply move down the roads and blunder into the German lines, so I'm holding off on activating the the river crossings and locations south of the river until later in the first day, corresponding to reinforcements.

I'm also entrenching the 12th SS and adding a few AI VP locations to try to keep the line units in their foxholes. That last thing is an ongoing issue IMO- the AI fidgets on defense and doesn't (again IMO) properly evaluate the importance of staying put when dug in. I think this effects perception of artillery being "too powerful"- when the troops keep jumping out of their holes, it is!

Free Hint: When playing the game (not just this scenario, but generally) first think I do when I start a scenario on defence is usually select the on-map boss, and give it a defend in situ order (I take an opposite approach on offense). I then tinker from there...

Same here.

I actually changed the movement value from 1 to 5, because the river Odon is so minor, that it could be crossed by vehicles even without bridges.

Tukker,

I have been playing your Epsom scenario and have really enjoyed it. In my case it has really turned into a cat fight near the hill objective...while there are clear lines else where, here they are mixed and chaotic. I have been on the fence of whether BftB was for me or not...I own it but was not getting into it, seemed less like I was playing and more like watching. Your scenario helped me slowly start to pick up on things I had been ignoring and forced me to make choices and decisions I had not had to make in the two or three scenarios I had played previously. Anyway, thanks for the scenario and thanks for helping me appreciate my purchase of BftB.
Kind Regards,

Harry

Installed and played your Epsom Phase 4 scenario last night. As recommended, played as Germans. Great fun! Thank you! [&o]

Thanks for these! Played the Epsom 4 scenario as the Germans. Managed a good victory but it was touch and go. Monte sure threw me for a loop for a bit. Well done! Also played the Epsom scenario from both sides. Found it pretty easy going as the Brits but pretty darn challenging as the Germans. Lots of fun!

Cheers!
