Allthough my grills are still on the move to the front, troops in Arnhem decided the want some barbeque :) One engineer squad flambed Spec Ops squad and Pz-IV. I have lost the control of the bridge but I'm still holding and the west of the town.

The missing stug was located, first squad failed to get near enough, second got also spotted but rallied and put bazooka round straight to the target :)

Quiet elsewhere, two or three turns and xxx corps should be in Njimigen.

XXX corps is now just outside Njimigen and moving northwards. Airborne cleared one bridge on the edge of the map with help of smoke and shermans, few casualties.

Then there's Arnhem, got one ht there, nothing major. The area of Arnhem is just hell, streets are full of dead german tanks and halftracks and I keep losing 2-3+ squads a turn :( But its hard for Hades too

Again, typhoons dived from the clouds, this time they spotted an armored convoy in Arnhem, two Konigstigers, ammo carrier and two Wespes, Wespes don't exist anymore :D I hope I have turned Hades arty down alot, two 12cm mortars, few mortar-halftracks and two wespes should feel somewhere.

Arnhem:

Two King Tigers move slowly through the smoke firing at the cowering British Airborne, then the lead tanks commander see a man stand up from a impact crater. The commander swings his mg at the man, but before he can fire, the AB troop lifts a tube up to his sholder... WHOOOOSHHHHH!!!! The German commander shouts to the driver to move but the PIAT shell hits the tank right here the turret meets the hull. The shell smacks through the armor before exploding. None of the crew survived.
Seeing what happened, the remaining King Tiger called for some help and two Tigers Crashed through the buildings behind the AB squad, the same PIAT man fired again hitting one of the tanks in the tread, but he missed the other. The two Tigers poured 88 rounds into the small office until it burst into flames, causing the AB squad to run out into the street which happened to put them in a cross fire between the other King Tiger and a SS squad. When the 88s and mgs stopped fire the Tigers had been avenged.

Other than that I killed more AB in the southwest part of town.

Yes I am losing alot of men but I keep getting a platoon of SS each turn, so you need to pick up the pace.:D

Shouldn't a PIAT be making more of a "sproooingg-- thump" kind of sound? :p Methinks the King's Airbornes have "borrowed" some equipment from their Yankee brethren. :D

"James, could you hand me that flamethrower please"
"Oh surtainly, why do you need it sir?"
"You see that building ? I believe there might be a bloody Tiger"
*WOOOOSSSHHHHH*
"And now where's that tee ?"
"Coming right up sir"
:D :D :D :D

For picking up the pace, I'm doing my best, Panther, couple of halftracks and few ss said boom :) It seems that you have moved past Arnhem to Oosterbeek (or whatever it is, west to Arnhem anyway). I spotted a halftrack there and made the ss-squad running away. South of Njimigen is now under my control and I'm moving towards the bridge. One of my Airborne squads spotted a strange looking boat on the river, after few hails of bullets the boat disappeared, wonder what happened to that ? :D

M4Jess, you should take a screenshot from Arnhem, it's a hell of a mess.

I will miss those tigers. :(

Another slow turn. Killed some AB in Arnhem, and I ran into some Polish AB west of Arnhem. Lots of troops ready to greet the XXX corps.

Nothing major this turn, killed some ss in Oosterbeek, some specs ops, ss and halftracks in Arnhem. Airborne seems to hold on pretty well allthough every v-hex in Arnhem is lost. XXX corps and Airborne killed some specs ops and ss in Njimigen. Also one halftrack and one armored car with 7.5cm gun got wiped out. Several trucks carrying ss spotted north of Njimigen. The town itself is under my control but the bridge is under German control, more tanks and troops and the bridge will be mine. Typhoons again dived and this time strafed an Ammo carrier, also few Panthers, another Konigstiger  and infantry were spotted in Arnhem. Rockets seem to be low on ammo so the planes aren't so usefull anymore :(

Shermans and Fireflys!!! Oh my!!! Njimegen is being overran by the XXX, but they are still a very long ways away from Arnhem. And when they get there, there will be hell to pay.

A SS-man is hiding in a building
*Heinz, was ist dass ?*
*Was meinst du ? Ich sehe nichts weil es so dunkel ist... warten sie, was ist das licht....*
*WOOOOOOSSSSHHHH*
One ss squad burned at the spot and the other runs...
*Heinz, teufel das war ein flammanlagen!*
*Ja, scheiss....*
*PRRRRRRRR*
The remaining squad is gunned down with Stens

Otherwere....

*Hans, gehört du dass ?*
*Was, ich habe nicht gehört*
The german commander turns his cupola around...
*TEUFEL!! ES GIBT EIN PIAT IN DER HAUSE LINKS VON HIER!!!*
*SPROOOOOINGG -- THUMP (thx Belisarius :))*
The round hits the hull and the tanks stops when it's engine brakes.
*FEUER HENDRICH !!!*
The rounds from 88mm gun and mg's do their job and airborne pulls back after taking some casualties.

Few buildings away....

*Ach, die britische schweine, es gibt nicht jetzt tot*
*Ja, gut das wir nicht mittel die Hause sind*
A quiet click is heared
*Was war da....*
*WOOOOOOOSSSHHH*
The flame hits the tank burning the tracks apart
*DIE SCHWEINE, FEUER!!!!*
The gunner fires ones and when reloading a sounds are heard from the back of the tank...
*BOOOOM*
No more that tank :)

Bet you didn't except this, airborne in Arnhem is attacking :) A Konigstiger immobilized, a Panther destroyed, two ss squads destroyed :)

Very very good turn :)

In Eindhoven XXX corps captured the first v-hex on the bridge with a loss of one cs-tank and one damaged Stuart. An AT-bunker was spotted which hit the cs-tank. Some infantry run away, couple of mg's and a panzerfaust squad got wiped out in Eindhoven with the truck that carried them. One Jpz was taken care of on the bridge when it was shooting that Stuart and exposed it's side. Also one mortar-halftrack was destroyed.

BTW. My deutsch isn't so good so there's some typos :)

turn 16

Post by Kaakao »

XXX corps is on the move, the Njimigen bridge is under my control, allthough there are atleast few german squads just next to the bridge. Killed a Stug, a truck, shot a ss-squad and then shot at few other squads which ran away. Hades is bombarding the bridges quite heavily but that doesn't bother me. From the information the planes gathered, there shouldn't be alot more heavier German tanks.

The only are which still is just in the hands of Airborne is Arnhem and Groosbeek. At Arnhem shot a specs ops squad, nothing big. No sign of enemy movement in Groosbeek.

Some brave SS men jumped the stone wall they were hiding behind and fired a Panerschek at a Sherman V from a few yards away.
That was about the only good thing that happened.
I had a Tiger advance into an intersection and survive an assult from a buildng. I pulled it away from the building rigt into another attack. It survive. It survived one more assualt before dying. porr brave Tiger. :( :( :(
