Don't worry. I'm not giving up, just waiting a working 1.03 patch. [:)]

Maybe I will get back to the 1.02b...

Does your mod work properly with 1.02b? If it does, I may do a clean install with it.

Yes. It was a few days ago, and the last changes aren't uncompatible with the 1.02b

What's the tradeoff between 1.02b and 1.03? (Aside from the new show-stopping bugs introduced in 1.03. [;)])

The Bugs, Game Balance & Economy fixes listed in the official AGEOD 1.03 patch announcement -- are most of these fixed also in the latest FY mod version?

In other words, is it the case that

RUS 1.02b + FY (latest) > RUS 1.03 (standalone, without FY)

???

Based on my empirical evidence it is definitely so.

You will get the CTD in the official 1.03 version. The CTD isn't a default of my mod, but of the exe.

For the rest, to put it simply, it belongs mostly to data files. FY uses for now the most part its own files, and so the gamebalance or economy changes in the official version are irrelevant in FY, my mod getting gamebalance by its own way. The same for economy, FY being wholly different on this.

1.02b exe had its bugs, see the official thread for the list.

And let me repeat: playing the 1.03 official version will get you CTDs, sooner or later. PON bug.

I may go back to 1.02b now. Its annoying having to work out the right time to exit the game, and I usually do so during the Winter Months as not much happens. So best way is to plan a turn, your production, battles etc, and when that turn has resolved, immediately end turn a second time without doing anything and close the game. When you go back, restore the previous turn without clicking on continue game, then end that turn and it works from then on. A bit convoluted though.

For my own, I'm currently trying to simplify the install process. Keke is right and I've to do something about [:)]

Berto, I'm glad you will try RUS. With FY, you will even get a miracle: Stalin smarter at war than in RL [:D], isn't it Keke?

Why cant you just combine all the rars into one single file, instead of all separate as you have now?

You have read in my mind. [:)] Just undone before because it's a lot of work to organize back the files.

I may try with lower AI detection bonus (?) next time because it always seems to choose a perfect attack route... On the other hand I really do enjoy challenging AI instead of dumbass AIs found in most games. [:)]

The +2 bonus in detection has an history too. When I begun to alter AI in AGE engine 3 years ago, it was mandatory to get results as stock AI was worse than today and scripting tools much more limited. Pocus has done a fine job in tuning up the AI routines and writing some commands I never found in other scripting languages.

Now, I continue to test with this bonus ( and I think I will keep as I known a bit more than anyone about AI habits) but the AI doesn't need it as much anymore.

I judge an AI, not by the difficulty of its challenge, but by its plausibility. As in: would a Real Life commander conceivably do that?

Lots of commanders in history were incompetent pushovers. But usually they weren't total idiots. Too many AIs are ahistorically, unbelievably, bizarrely idiotic. (But not AGEOD's! The AGE AI is good, among the best there is.)

I did a clean install. For some reason Fitskhelaurov's image doesn't appear in the game: the counter is blank.

Well, it turned out to be another install problem. [:o]

I went through the exes one by one to make sure they were extracted in right folders, and everything looks all right again. Don't need no nice surprises. [:D]

There are 2 Siberian stacks. Next turn, the more important and less supplied has moved back to samara. The second has 6 supply chariots and stays near Simbirsk when in the same time another stack is coming from Ufa toward Simbirsk. I'm not worried for this case: winter offensive [:)]
