Can I load a 1.9.0.3 savefile after updating to 1.9.0.4? Or will this cause strange things to happen?

- troops defending a colony during an invasion regenerate health/readiness at half usual speed, new troops also recruited at half-speed. This makes colony invasions easier to achieve.

Wait what - Surely the defenders are better equipped to handle wounded combatants with - oh you know an entire planet worth of infrastructure, over the aggressor who's been dumped on the planet with no proper medical facilities...

I'm very happy with this change. Invading homeworlds was very very difficult because of this issue of troops repairing while in combat.

An issue I've noticed in my last game (1.9.0.3, but it hasn't been mentioned before I think) is that the AI would very often offer to sell me a technology, but for a fraction more money than I actually had. So I could never take them up on their offer. It seems as if the AI waits until it thinks I have enough money, but the algorithm is a bit off. Or I wait for 5 seconds before opening the message and in the mean while I lost a couple of thousand credits.

The obvious solution would be for the AI to only offer if I had the money + some spare change.

After upgrading to 1.9.0.5 my game stutters every 4-5 seconds. This is with a new game started in 1.9.0.5. Also the pirates keep attacking me (I'm a normal empire) even when i pay for protection. Of course this cancels the protection agreement. Note the last one may be a feature I haven't seen before.

Indeed - they were regenerating too fast. This does not make them slower than the attacker, just slower than they were before.

If as a pirate, I have a space port around a non-inhabited planet, and then I colonize the planet, the space port disappears.
Was this fixed?? Or should it not be possible to happen in '.05'.

Very nice patch. I would like to note though that improved engagement stances only halfway fix the problem that fleets will attack way to strong space bases and commit harakiri in the process. If fleets were a bit smarter about it I could rule my empire like a true emperor (i.e. less micromanaging). And I'm 100% sure it would make a huge difference to the AI as well. I won quite a few wars this way. My nr.1 immersion breaker!

Cheers:)

Should we expect any compatibility issues with saves made in 1.9.0.5? Two days ago I started a new game and would be nice to know if fresh start is recommended.

Cheers!

Most fixes are backwards compatible, but not all. It is not required to start a new game, but if you want to make sure you have all the fixes, a new game is the only way to guarantee that.
