@Dinglir: I did a quick test too with the logistiscs modifier and the results are consistent with what you said. It seems the logistics modifier difference to 100 is simply substracted from the rail modifier after all other modifications have been done (though the 100 to 50 step is not consistent with that, but the direction is right).
Not sure how the formula is exactly, I have checked it and it is not included in the logistics article in the library.
I think the lesson from your game is, never change more than 5 points in the difficulty settings.
Given your settings and the results you have found I think I would have farmed morale for all units and then run back to the border for the winter and defend the line for the rest of the game. Not very interesting except for the sake of a further experiment.

You commented on the lack of comments in HLYA's AAR, I think the .pdf format is great for the reader but you do not see the AAR directly/can't quote directly, so it is less enticing comments.

Commment on T1/T2, I think you need to spend a bit more thought on how to design pocket walls and/or secure the supply lines, as there were quite some cut-offs on T1 and T2.

In the Total-war guide there is a list of T1 Soviet MP restrictions which are useful to plan pocket walls.

Regards and good AAR

I know.

My problem is that I really don't like spending hours upon end trying to create what I call a "scripted" first turn. I fully appreciate it can be done, but I just don't like it. I would much rather focus on improving on some other aspects of the game.

It is an amazing first turn you have shown in that AAR however....

Not liking scripting turns is understandable, but I mean also on later turns. It is very worth it to spend some thought on how far the Soviets can walk on their turn, or what possibilities they have. The idea is a separate one from T1.

Thanks.
