So, what we do is: backup our saved games, etc, from H2Hv1, then delete that directory, next install a clean SPWAWv7.1 and then install H2Hv2 over that, then paste our saves, etc. back into v2?

You don't need to delete anything. To make a backup of saved games, campaigns and maybe maps or scenarios you don't want to loose is a good idea.
Make also a backup copy of the OOBs from "H2H ce".
Then install "H2H fr" (the new one) simply over your existing H2H and also make a copy of the OOBs.
If you got battles running in "H2H ce", simply load the OOBs of that version into the main directory, when you play with the new OOBs, put them back in again...this little OOB swapping will bring you over the time needed to finish old games without installing to versions or having other troubles...

...if you had a PM or e-mail link, you'd already have it! Send me a PM/e-mail...I have enough download time left on my server to grant your wish. ;)

tracer: No thanks, I'll just wait. I was just hoping I'd get it downloaded today, but play it sometime later, as I'm hot in the middle of my best CIV3 PTW effort to date.

The changes really effecting gameplay are listed...the rest is mainly fine tuning and OOB work plus the big new graphics set by Tracer and Harry.

The whole thing is 65MB as download...at first I wanted to make a patch and a full download, but as the patch would have been about half the size of the full download (29MB or so), I skipped that idea...there will be only one full version to install...

ok ... I have it :)
I'll translate it ASAP

Sorry for the confusion...check out page 2 of this thread. Moving a 60+mb file around the internet isn't an easy task; once you exceed the 5mb limit of a standard e-mail box things start getting tricky...and costly!:D Some copies (~15) were able to be downloaded from an intermediate server (the first of course going to The Blitz), but now that site's limit (1000mb) has pretty much been used up. I'm betting that tomorrow morning it'll be busy at The Blitz site. ;)

m10bob: Your snack sitdown will turn into a starvation sitdown if my guess is correct. In my case, I'm one of those poor saps that usually work on saturdays, so I'll be curious to see if it'll be up by 1600 CST, which I'm doubting.

OK, if I'm understanding this correctly H2Hv2 will be appearing on the Blitz site shortly and possible a bit sooner at the Blitz ftp site cited in a message back on page two of this thread - the same ftp site where 'spwawh2full.zip' currently sits.

Ah, patience.

I hate patience.

I just heard from PL: He discovered an error in the patch, and instead of issuing a 'patch for the patch', he decided to correct it now...hence, the delay. That's all the info I have.

Apologies to PL if I'm posting 'out of turn', but since I snuck a few advance copies out I felt I was obligated to let those people know.
