I go through jar after jar of pickled jalapeno peppers
These tend to make people grumpy. Must be all the heat they produce.

Kinda like Brady's midget subs ... you are not going to win the war after sinking the entire Allied fleet with these guys. Maybe you'll hit a freighter somewhere if the moon happens to line up with the other planets at just the right time [:D]

What will the effect be, if you upgrade to 1.5 in a AI game? Will it be a game breaker?

I'd like to hear if this is safe as well. (yes I know I won't get the OOB changes, just want the bug fixes without hosing the game)

Simple really. If you want to continue a game, don't upgrade. If you want to restart, upgrade. If you want both, install two copies of the game.

Retroactive bug fixes don't do much as the bug has already bit you and nothing is going to change that fact. It simply prevents it from happening further.

To be contrary - how about if I don't want to restart but want to upgrade anyway? Say i've got a PBEM but want to upgrade the game anyway will it make the PBEM work 'unworkable'?

What you do is entirely up to you.

As to the effects of some of the code fixes, it *should* work but there is nowhere near enough time in the day to test backlevelled games so that statement needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Keep a copy of your game and put it aside so you can go back if you find the results 'unworkable'.

As I have learned recently while programming a wargame, bugs are just a big pain sometimes...

There is one we have been trying to get to for months... I may have fixed it today, only a lot of tests will decide.

So good luck to Matrix on the leader bug!!! (this is no joke!!!)

(For our game, I have already decided for tomorrow to program to record and save every user action.)

If you want to do both, install War in the Pacific twice on your machine and upgrade.
Is this an implicit statement that version 1.5 will not be able to even continue games started on previous versions?!?

No, it simplifies support actually, has nothing to do with the game itself ... then we don't get into the well it's fixed now but you didn't upgrade blah blah blah type discussions.

Otherwise every second post is going to be "is this a 1.5 game or a 1.4 game upgraded to 1.5 ot a 1.3 game upgraded to 1.4 upgraded to 1.5 or a 1.3 game upgraded to 1.5 skipping 1.4 or a ..."

I'm sure you see the problem [;)]

Jalapeno anything is great. I eat the suckers straight from the jar. I make a mean jalapeno spaghetti. Eat them on pizza, hamburgers, cheese dip, and anything else that sounds good at the moment.

Liver is just gross. Yeck.

Why stop at jalapenos? Habeneros are a good way to kick up the flavor a bit.

We used to have a wing joint up near by that sold "Death Wings" made with Dave's Insanity Sauce. The deal was that if you could eat all 5 they were free. I got through 4 before going into vapor lock hick ups. Added a bottle of the sauce to my collection (over 200 and counting) though. It is good in much smaller quantities. [X(]

At work I tend to use m OC spray as a condimint more that a weapon. I have become virtually immune to the stuff from being exposed to it so many times.

I agree about liver. Why would you eat the equivilent of the oil filter of you car?
