There is a known crash when battles involve 64 or more units and you are running the combat animations. This is fixed in the first patch that we are testing now. If the crash is during gameplay for a reason other than this, and you have a save before it crashes, please send it to 2by3@2by3games.com. Be sure to select the autosave preference option so you have a save you can go back to. If the crash repeats after you load the save it is very useful for us to get the save.

Yeah i had this happen to me last night. After 2-days of solid playing time, and no problems(crashes, etc) I got the 64 unit crash. Btw i have my settings at high res, and animations on, and like i said no problems. However when i got into 1947(yes it went this long, as i had no turn limit on) i had Germany surrounded and Japan conquered. I saw that Russia was coming fast, so i hit Germany in Western Ger. with alot of Units.
As soon as it went into animation.... screen went Black, and it locked up, with a GGWAW error, it locked up so bad, i never could get the error report[:@]. So i alt tabbed out, and then got Virtual Memory warning.I did manage to take a Screen Shot 2 turns before this happened(I know this wont help much, but i could never get the report).
My specs are Athlon 1.8ghz with over 32 gb of mem on hd, 512 mem ram, geforce4 mx 440 64mb.......

I have a screen shot if u want just before battle, i know it doesnt help much, but i have it, just not sure how to implement it into this thread...sorry
Also, one other thing to note.....When your in Production and buying units, i noticed the longer that screen stays up the laagier it gets( i think this has something to do with the background noises-ala pipes hittting ground-etc, cause once you click on unit data screen, then back, it goes away)Not sure, but jus letting you know my experience.

BTW......GREAT GAME GUYS!!![:D]

Treespider,

Looking through your DxDiag, your video and sound drivers are both two years old (2003). Please try downloading the latest versions and installing those. Let me know if that helps.

Regards,

- Erik

Updated drivers this morning for the video and sound cards...game stills seems to be working terribly hard if I keep the sound on (edit:actually its if I keeep the music on). Turn the sound (edit:music) off (edit: set to 0) and the computer quiets down and game seems to runs fine.

I was able to play almost two complete games yesterday...settings were low res; music volume zero, video animations off.

As I posted earler...P4 3ghz, 512 DDR, 128m Radeon 9600, 70 odd gb HD.

I did notice that the game starts to bog down / hang when you are on the production screen for longer than a minute or two. However if you exit out of the screen and return its as if it reset itself and you have another minute or two before the game bogs down/ hangs again... ( It was nothing that made the game unplayable, just was slightly annoying).

Otherwise seems to be a great game.
