I am not around at the moment so just spread the risk to try and avoid sinking then abort from the sea area if anything survives. Lowest rating units chosen to try and avoid the worst. Thanks

Turn 6. Jul/Aug 1940. Allied #5, part 3

Naval combat continued:
I got this instruction from Warspite
"I am not around at the moment so just spread the risk to try and avoid sinking then abort from the sea area if anything survives. Lowest rating units chosen to try and avoid the worst. Thanks "

Next X is the Axis. The chose CA Pola. Roll is 8, it is damaged
Next X is the Allies. We chose BB Vittorio Veneto. Roll is 4 and it is damaged which means it is sunk.

Next D is the Axis. They chose CA Trento. Roll is 3 and it is damaged.
Next D is the Allies. They chose CA Bolzano. Roll is 8 and it is aborted.

Last A is irrelevant as the Italians are aborting from the sea area.

The allies stay in the Western Med while the Italians limper home to La Spezia.

Where you able to fix the error on AA fire, or are you just going to live with it? At the least, the CW should get some build points as compensation, I think. (When they take a pilot loss, change the die roll so the plane is lost but not the pilot.)
I thought I knew how to play this game....

I disagree, I could have gone back and fixed it but it was my error, not a programming bug, and how will I learn if it does not sting a bit. [:)]

Jul/Aug 1940
Impulse: 6 (Axis)

Land Combat:
Japan

See above

Germany

The attack on Paris is a +14. I assume assault as, like before, there will be no counter if evicted.

Fresh on the heels of throwing a 5, I now throw a 6.... Fortunately the lack of a third French unit this time just about gets the job done but the engineer is lost and half the units are disorganised.

Turn 6. Jul/Aug 1940. Allied #7

No wars or alignments.

CW - combined
France - land
USSR - combined
China - land
US - combined

Portattacks:
None

Naval air:
None

Naval movement:
CW transports a MIL, a CP and some BBs to the Western Med.
The US sails some convoys and prepares the return of part of the shippingline to Japan.

Naval combat:
None

Strategic bombardment:
CW bombs Taranto with a Hampden LND. A 9 is rolled but it seems that production is already down in Taranto so no effect. I did not know it worked like that. Lesson learned. Where can I see what factories are spent so to speak?
Image

Rail movement:
Zhukov is railed to Novosibirsk

Land movement:
China tries to mount a defense of the heartland but things are looking very bleak in the center.
Image
USSR takes position on the German border.

CW moves in on Bombay, finally reaching the city with some of the Indian forces. Damned weather.
CW makes strengthens the defense of Sardinia. Manning both the port in the north and the capital.

France moves in to mount a final attack northwest of Vichy.

Land combat:
France attacks the lone italian MTN NW of Vichy. 10,5 vs 5 = +4,4 assault (defenders choice rather)
Image

Robert, assault of blitz?

I think the way to do it is to bring up the production screens (cntl-P), pick the major power you want to check, and select factories. Bombed factories should say "Lost", as opposed to idle or producing.

I hope this is correct; I can't remember ever actually looking to see what factories I've bombed. Next time I bomb a factory I'll look.
I thought I knew how to play this game....
