RE: RE:V1.12.02

I’ve experienced the same problem when adding majors. In my case all of German units in the production que from the game editor were now in Italy’s production que when playing the game. I can confirm a fix is to just delete the units from que after adding the major and then put them back into the que.

Hi Bill - not a bug, but in going thru every script one by one due to changes I have made to 653N, I came across DE's 303 and 310. 310 looks a little odd compared to 303. I checked the 1939 Campaign to make sure that it wasn't something I did. It doesn't matter to me and probably makes no difference, or it is something else that I don't understand, but thought I would mention it if you want to have a look.

From the Department of NitPicks, sometimes these messages appear in reverse order. As seen below, Finland joins the Axis first, then later the message that Finland is preparing for war shows up. Usually these show up in proper order, but not always. While it makes no difference, it just seems a little odd.

When I open up a saved game, I hit 'U' to highlight the upgradeable units . Later, when I hit the Reinforce Tool button, it turns the 'U' back to off. Later in the turn it stops doing this. I don't see what is causing the inconsistency, but I think that once I hit 'U' it should stay on until I turn it off myself. I think.

Is this supposed to be COUNTRY_ID= 105 instead of 118 ? And how does the game know it is the USSR doing the DOW ? I think it doesn't because I attacked Persia with the UK, not the USSR, and got this message.

MOBILIZATION #1

; USSR Declares War on Persia resulting in a
; random 10-15% increase in Syrian mobilization towards Axis:
{
#NAME= USSR DoW On Persia (Syria->Axis)
#POPUP= Vichy France Instructs Syria To Issue Stern Protest
#IMAGE=
#SOUND=
#FLAG= 1
#TYPE= 0
#AI= 0
#GV= 1[1,100]
#LINK= 0[0]
#LEVEL= 0
#COUNTRY_ID= 118
#TRIGGER= 25
;10-15% mobilization increase towards Axis
#MOBILIZATION= [10,15] [1]
; USSR declares war on Persia
#CONDITION= 82 [1] [2]
}

IIRC, the original intention was to not have players confused when picking a tool, i.e. it should just highlight the units that can either be reinforced or upgraded when in the applicable 'tool' mode, but then revert to your 'highlight' display settings after you exit the tool.

Assuming this is still ok, I'll look into why it is acting up and simply try and correct this part.

I think it works fine and dandy, it just doesn't revert. However, it only doesn't revert after I load a saved game, and it does revert eventually during the turn, but I haven't determined why. [:)]

Thanks for the bug report and we are looking into correcting this. To answer the second part of the question, no the game engine does not know the USSR performed the DoW, it is more an assumption on our part and a reminder in the #NAME field as to the purpose of the event. It is a best guess as to who would perform the DoW.

However, down the road for future games I may update the event handling to have a more specific understanding of who DoWs in this case.
