Does your Sam sound good or is it that garbled sound?  I just have basic XP on my system, so was wondering if yours is a step up or something.

This is from 1.20. I don't have the save but I have pasted a view of the play by play. 1995 Indians -vs- White Sox. Two outs Runners on 1st and 3rd. Paul Sorrento Doubles, run scores, runners on Second and Third. Two Outs still. Sandy Alomar hits it to SS who makes a two base throwing error. Eddie Murray Scores, and Paul Sorrento Scores. Alomar to second but Murray is still showing on Third. Next batter is Kenny Lofton and the Play by Play shows two outs and runners on second and third. Only Alomar should be on 2nd. Lofton was walked to reload the bases and then Vizquel flew out to end the inning. I don't know if Murray would have scored or not but he was still showing on Third. Here is the play by play look:

Version 1.30 here -

Team was up 5-2 when I brought in my closer in the bottom of the 9th to finish off the game. He knocked them down in order for the 5-2 win.

However, he wasn't awarded a "save".

I have always believed that if the closer came into a game with a 3-run (or less) lead, he would get the save so long as he didn't blow the save. If that's true (and I'm not 100% sure it is, but pretty sure), then this is a bug.

Someone feel free to correct my "save definition" if I'm wrong.

Thanks.

Not sure if this is related to all the current v1.31 fixes on injuries or not...  could be...

But I sometimes stop a sim after an injury and find that I have two players injured, and only one was reported.  They had both been injured on the same day.

No big deal in that when you check your roster you should see it.  But it would be good to have a report on the additional injuries.

Looking forward to messing with v1.31

>- Pitchers not showing up on "relief" list in the Major League roster even though they >show as being on my Major League roster over to the left-hand side. (Woodruff) [Not >reproducible]

I am amazed that this is listed under "not reproducible" because it happens all the bloody time for me at the beginning of the season. In fact, I would say it has happened every single season.

Please add it back to the bug list, and I will send Shaun my association the next time it happens.

Thanks.

Version 1.31 here -

Can't swap DH - by that I mean the following "for instance". My starting DH also plays 1B. During our offense, I pinch-hit for my 1B with a LF, planning to move the LF to DH and the DH to 1B. But even though when I would click on the 1B and it would say "click on a position to make a position change", it wouldn't do anything when I did so. I can change any of the other positions, but I can't change anyone to the DH.

Can you take me through the exact steps again? Does it lead to a crash, or do you just have to hit "Rebuild Rotation"?

Apologies if you have posted these details before, I am doing the best I can to keep up with all the messages.

Can you post the box score from the game? I believe that yes, it should have been a save.

Ok, in the first Championship game no MS Sam.  It was working until this first game. The right boxes are checked. Crowd sounds, crack of the bat and fireworks are working.  ?????????????????

Shaun,

For the "relief pitchers not showing up" error...even hitting "Rebuild Rotations" doesn't do anything for this. The pitchers remain "invisible" (they're in my pitcher list, but not over under my list of relievers that can be used in the game.

If I select one of these "invisible" relievers and click on one of the blank spots on my reliever list, it gives me an error of something along the lines of (sorry I don't recall the specifics) "Must select a pitcher instead of blank".

The only way I've found to fix this is to send the "invisible" relief pitchers down to the minors and then promote them back to the Majors. Then, they show up on the reliever list.

It does not crash the game, but it can be a big pain to have to do this for several relief pitchers.

Padresfan, I'll have to go see if I can hunt up the box score. It was a game from my previous season.

But I do clearly remember the circumstances. My team was ahead 5-2.

My starting pitcher struck out the first batter in the 9th inning, and then gave up a double to the next batter.

So I put in my closer, and he struck out the next two batters.

But he was not credited with the save in the stats (including the box score).

Woodruff, have you done any edits to your XML file?  Just checking to see, because I once had a somewhat similar issue, but not entirely.

In particular, have you editted any of the pitcher fatigue categories?  Like the range between good, ok, tired, etc.

- Sometimes, an outcome pitch is thrown and there is the crack of the bat, the ball moves forward and vanishes. The play be play then reads that the hitter has flown out to the outfield, but with no appropriate ball flight animation. (KG Erwin, Deltadog)
[Not a bug -- if you press a key at any time during a play result it skips the animation]

Note that at times that this was observed, no key was pressed which could have caused the game to skip the animation!

SittingDuck...good thought, but no...I don't edit the XML file. I did back in the 1.20 days, but got such wacky outcomes that I stopped messing with it and haven't since then.

Shaun...on Deltadog's statement about the key being pressed causing the "vanishing ball", I have also witnessed this and I don't use the keyboard at all when managing games.

Not sure if pitchers are getting recovery for off-days in the playoffs. Looks odd to me.

EDIT: Yep, there is something up. Palmer pitched the second game, threw 109 pitches and after the game he was classified as 'Worn Out'. He then had FIVE days to recover before his next start.

Mind you, my starter recovery is set at 92, whereas default is 81. So there is no way that Palmer should be anything but 'Feeling Dandy'. In fact, he should be overpowering. But instead, he is just classified as 'Good'.

I would think if my starter recovery was set at 40, after five days of recovery he should still be 'Feeling Great'. I think this is also part of why no one can run a 3-man rotation in the playoffs. Granted, that shouldn't always be possible anyhow, depending on usage. But still..

It does look like hitters are recovering properly, however.

No, let me change that - hitters are not recovering either.  I just had a day off before Game 6, and I have several players listed as Good or Fair who should be Feeling Great.  So recovery is not working for post-season.

Whew.  Glad I archived this assn before the playoffs.
