RE: Cavalry corps training program.
Yes, I'm subscribed to the thread. But since I had done my turn I didn't figure I had anything to do at this time, sorry.
Do you want me to spend the rest of the AP on support units? Since we don't want to have any left over to be burned up on the new divisions coming in.

And why do we still have SU in the Transcaucasus and Urals MD's? If nobody else wants them, we certainly do.
And did we ever have a policy about SU assignments? Are we supposed to set our HQ's to any given level of support?

I'm going to put my save game up now. Hopefully supreme command is going to deal with spending our remaining AP so they don't disappear.

RE: Cavalry corps training program.
I will do the turn by tonight. Can we get an indication of what to do with the AP. I know Mamluke wanted to save them for the offensive, but will they really disappear if we dont use them !??!

RE: Cavalry corps training program.
Each side may have a maximum of 500 admin points, any more points added beyond that will be lost.
We only have 74 Admin Points currently so there is no problem, they will remain until we use them.
Doctorking, your new save doesnt work either, same problem as before. It cant be loaded. Doctorking, can you load the save? Maybe you're running a different version that the rest of us, idk.

What version are you running? I'm using the new beta 1.11.02 but I might downgrade anyway.

RE: Cavalry corps training program.
If I understand correctly, all the new units that will appear next turn in the logistics phase, since they are replacements of units that were destroyed some weeks ago, will be rebuilt using the AP that remain at the end of the turn. Since each new division costs 20 AP, that means all of our remaining AP should vanish during the logistics phase. I'd be happy if this weren't true, but it has always been thus represented to me and I have always had the habit of using up all my AP as the Soviets each turn.

Yeah, that's probably the issue. Please dont update unless all of us do, or there will ofc be issues.

Iv updated the game as well and I have no problem. The new patch is compatible for saved game, but you cant update it, play with it, and then downgrade and use the same save file. Everyone should upgrade to the new patch.
BUT, I will talk it over with Telemecus. But Iv upgraded to the new patch and everyone was still able to access my file.

Ok, that's fine then. Although I'm not 100% on with the beta. Maybe we should stick with 1.11.01. If you're going to do that, I authorize you to move for me as we discussed. Get the good units out of the line and moving towards 8th and 23rd Armies, move the turkeys towards the front, fill in gaps, get the air bases off the railroad.

Every German players are on the new patch as well. So well need everyone to get on board with it. And then finally get on with the new save file. I hope we wont all have to re-do them but if it makes things simpler, thats what well do. Cause we gotta hurry as well if we dont want to finish the game in 5 years ( I personally dont care how long it takes, Im here til the end ). But it would be nice to be out of Operation Barbarossa and start kicking some butts !

OK so it's totally 1.11.02. I guess I'm OK with that. We'll have to see what the effect on air operations is. I'd suggest turning off ground support and doing only manual ground attack missions where you know the German air force is not going to be. Our base morale is going to go from 20 to 35 starting January 1st and then we can start getting a _little_ more aggressive. Keep the air force well back from the front because even unescorted German bombers will cause our boys to mess their pants and bail out at this point.
This is the problem with uncritically signing on to public betas, I guess.

Turn is done. Good Job commanders. We have reports from our Intel that the Axis General Crackaces has died from Partisan. Rejoice Comrades. To whoever was fighting against Crackaces, expect a different pattern of strategy from your new adversary. Be ready to adapt.
Additional intel says that the new German commander will be taking charge of the central front and General Sparkleytits has been seen moving around the Northern Areas.
Lots of Partisan died for this information..

Never get enough of that role playing boss [;)]
Supreme leader, you still haven't decided where to deploy the Cavalry corps?
As a detailed before, on the 1st turn of December, we will have 15 ready Cav corps of varied quality (not counting 1 already in Crimea), whit a 17th ready for deployment in 11 of December (2nd turn of December).
You must decided which front needs this units more. you must also consider where the better quality corps are needed as well.
In my experience with the winter, the Cav corps provided a much needed exploitation with their high movement points, they also are great with Hasty attacks, another advantage is they don't suffer any penalties in woods compared to motorize.
PS: BTW, in regards to the new update, since planes can't be both night and day, we should fix that 1st and not use the air force I guess, its a mud turn so no real problem.
Don't worry about not giving supplies to the pocket at Voronezh, those guys suffered too much time in isolation to matter anymore.
