Thanks for your advise.
Such troops need to be in move mode and unrestricted. You'll likely only get a fraction of a unit aboard a sub too as their troop-carrying capacity is very limited.

You could ask in a separate thread but use SSTs to move troops.

Agree with RJ that questions about standard game mechanics do not belong in this thread about the new Beta, but since the topic has been raised and answered, I will add that only paratroops (units designated 'para') can load into subs in Combat mode. Usually used to take vacant dot islands.

It's OK - part of learning about using the forum, + you did not start the drift into other topics. The War Room sub-forum or the main forum for the game are the main places to ask questions about gameplay. And do a quick scan of topic headings to see if the topic has already been discussed recently before you start your own thread on it. But don't resurrect threads over six months old - the earlier stuff will have already been read and discussed by regular forum readers who do not want to plow through it all again to find your question.

Maybe at this point it's best to announce the final update has been cancelled that way if it actually ever gets released before the Second Coming everyone will be pleasantly surprised?

+1 GP. Some people do not appreciate the difficulty of the task or the fact that it is a FREE upgrade that no one expects to profit from. It's OK to be keen to see it - it's not OK to act like you are owed it.

It is well-appreciated (at least by me). 8-)

I just didn't like the idea of adding those (useless) off-map bases in past. (insert low grumbling voice) :P

All efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your continued support. I've been playing for about three years now, and to call it an obsession is a bit of an understatement

I'd also like to add my sincere thanks to the team and ask a question. Will AndyMac's various Ironman scenarios be part of the patch and have they been updated at all?

Just adding my support. Thanks for the effort, GP et al.

And yes, I hope there's at least one Ironman scenario (for Japanese AI).

The very fact we are getting an update on this game at all is a minor miracle. Nothing but respect for the people who are putting so many hours in to bring it to us. I don't care when it comes out. Take your time.

As my namesake, Dr. Klahn, would say: "You have our gratitude."

The game engine is getting some of the updates so if you are running the 1127 version engine and select the Ironman scenario you should be using the Ironman Database where all the differences from Vanilla will be the same. It is possible that some tweaks will be made to the Ironman scenario (error corrections) but mostly it should play the same. The standard game map will also have some corrections.

Grateful and appreciative of the team still supporting this game that we may see an update to the beta patch before we reach two years but yes a little humor is warranted

We are in the home stretch guys, no need to vent at this point is there? The team had a difficult task given the time elapsed and "Grigsby factor" involved.
I got heated at the new bases thing myself for a different reason, but all is forgiven. It IS free after all. Too easy for all of our individual passions for WITP:AE to get the better of us.
Here is to a successful release!

Thanks. Just another follow up, will the other Ironman scenarios (or other mod scenarios in general) be compatible with 1127? Or will they not work with the new update?

Scenarios are just databases and scripts. The game engine can handle them all the same if the map features are the same. If any Ironman scenario called for an extended map with extra bases etc, it might have a problem in that region.

Just a F1 thing.

"No, no Yaab. You will not have the patch."
