It is wonderful that there are folks willing to work on the update and especially address the problems with the off-map stuff in the Beta.

I expect that there are a number of people like me holding up on further commitment to the game in anticipation that the revision will be "soon." Also from looking at the forum, there are a few like me that find the process of getting the game to operate reasonably after download of a new version is most challenging to our computer literacy.

It would be glorious to know if it's likely to be a week from now, a month from now, or still a few months away, if only to know whether I should check for it every day, every week or a month from now. or whether we should go ahead and reload the last non-Beta to fire up a new game.

But again I do deeply appreciate the work - just looking for some crumbs of guidance here.

There are probabely only a handfull people working on the beta and i suppose they all have a working job and does this in their freetime. May i ask why not more people were invited to particiapte? I personally also have not much time but willing to help..... I know too many people is sometimes also not ideal so to find the right balance is the key :D

That is probably part of it but also that some of the developers have moved on. As far as play testing, it really needs only a few people to go through it since it is more of adjustments than trying to build an entirely new game. Also, trying to figure out the coding when you have been away from it for so long as well as trying to change some other person's code is not too easy for such a large program. Then when the code is changed, someone has to make sure that there are no new problems or old problems that return.

Will campaigns started in version 1127 still be playable with the (soon to be released) update?

The map is going back to a vanilla map with some updates. And there are some other changes. So I'm not sure at this point. I would recommend that you stick with your current game as is. What is the game date and is it a PBEM game or vs the AI?....GP

Thanks for the quick response! Just started vs the AI in the Ironman T2 scenario.

While I appreciate all the hard work on the beta, I gave up on it because I can’t seem to get past the map problem with Aden & Abadan being in the wrong places. No matter how many clean installs etc I try, the problem persists. Hopefully this will be fixed in a future release. Please 🙏

You can always take the .exe file and use it with the old scenarios. But the new map won't be too much different than the old one.

Now that Joe has said that beta 2 for 1127 update has been submitted to Matrix we can hope for a quick release.

Maybe a month for Matrix to test it . . .

I know this question has been asked before, so apologize in advance for the nagginess. : )

I was just wondering if there is a proper list of the changelog for the new patch? The answers I have read is that they are in the readme file, all I find in there is:

V1.01.27– 05 March 2022 (Game version shown as 1.8.11.27)
1. Ninth Update – This release is a comprehensive release updating all previous
versions to v1.01.27
2. Code Changes
1. Naval support not present at 0(0) port once port is built up
2. Another underway ammo replenishment issue if AE unable to reload the biggest weapon on
ship
3. Drawing ship a/c from pool at base uses replacement group if nearby
4. Tweak what is an 'instructor' for TRACOM purposes and allow casualties to them
5. Tweak group training mission not getting many op losses for low experience pilots
(increased fatigue of low experienced pilots and aircraft)
6. Aircraft upgrading to blank airframe
7. Mines not removed from ships in non-ML taskforce
8. Repair/maint of seaplane not expending supply (1 point per plane from tender supply if more
than seaplane support at base). Exceeding support did expend normal supply.
9. Added confirmation to ‘Disband TF’ button

But from what I hear there are map-changes, AI upgrades etc, so this does not appear to be the full list of changes. Reason I am asking is mainly to find out if it will significantly change gameplay, to find out if it is worth the wait to start a new game with the patch, or if it wont make any major difference. (That said the amount of work being put into this game to improve and fix bugs is hugely appreciated, thanks.) Any info you guys may have would be appreciated.

When the new patch is ready, I am sure there will be a change log with it. Otherwise, reading through the threads on this will pick up the gist of what was being worked on. Most of the map changes will likely be fixes to things that were not appropriate on the stock map - things like port building possible at inland bases, hex sides being impassable when they should be passable, problems with navigable waterways, etc.

If I am correct, this current thread and upcoming patch are about fixing issues of the v1127 beta.

But what was the original aim of v1127 in terms of game improvements?

For the new Beta map, the railroad line from Calcutta to diamond harbor does not show up with the "Y" key. Nor can units use it.
