Hex 50,54 and 51,54 are coded as OD but the art work shows them to be shallow ocean terrain.

And the updated pwhex file works fine and the corrections are there.
Another fault that has been present since 2009! If this was brought up in an earlier thread I missed it. I have fixed this as well now. Thanks.

Andrew, it looks like you missed this from your original thread. I think this is also from 2009.

The one now used in the beta was the original which had the control zones on it.
The control zones are not used by the game.

It would be good to change that back.

So it does. Another error on my part to leave those visible when I generated the new set of small maps. Added to the fix list.

Try this updated Strategic map (which goes into the beta ART folder).
I do not have a beta ART folder, I did a new clean install with just the original 10079 file and the 1127 beta patch file
Put it in the same folder where your map art is. It should ask to replace the existing file. Choose Yes....GP

I did and it worked fine, I was trying to say that a clean install did not make a Beta Art folder and that might cause some confusion

The strategic map replacement works good. Thanks.

You want to also replace it in the new manual so that we don’t get
questions on the forum about the control zones.

Also might want to adjust the descriptions because the map does not just have
red and green dots it also has yellow dots.

The yellow dots indicate bases that do not have 2x supply present.
They are hard to see even at low resolution.

I sent the CV in Jamaica and the DDs in New Orleans to Panama. They are in the box near Aden. I will see what happens . . .

If you wanted to send them to Balboa, Then you had to send them to Cristobal first, then Balboa. Check out the off map movement document. It is in the new manual. If you can't find it look in the main game folder....GP

The table starting on page 213 (see below) might require explanation in the text, and perhaps moved a bit latter in the relevant section. And, the headings might be more fully rendered. For instance, "Pt Repair Assist" might be rendered as "Repair Assist Points" (I guess?). I wonder if in this section (on repair) only a table with Port Size and the last three columns should appear.

What was the exact sequence of steps you took? When I create those TFs and order them to Cristobal it works OK.

I'm pretty sure that the TF's were ordered to Balboa. That's the same problem I had in testing. Now that I know not to do that, I'm ok. The warning screen doesn't come up....GP

So the wonderful TOUGH scenarios by Andy Mac will stop working with this Beta? I saw that they were all rubbed out when I downloaded it.

Andy Mac's tier 3 nasty and several others are set to work with the new update. And I did suggest that you load the new update into a fresh copy of the game....GP

Somethings when you are a paralyzed, one armed, computer illiterate, old man over 68 man are easier read than done. Can you please direct me where I can get Andy Mac's tier 3 nasty with Jap AI? Also, I'll need download instructions. Sorry for being a pain.

Thank you for your time and effort.

I created the TFs and then sent them to Balboa. I redirected them to Cristobal because they were going to take the long way to Balboa.

I have yet to open the new manual.

I am having troubles with the game constantly crashing . . .

About the manual:
I would recommend that the off map chart displayed in Section “ 6.2.10.3 Naval Movement - Between connected off-map areas” have a few changes for readability.
1. I would start the picture of the chart at the top of a new page so the column headers aren’t cut off from the rest of it.
2. All of the columns for the new off map areas (Suez, New Orleans, Jamaica, Gibraltar, and Alexandria) that were added, don’t line up with the rest of the columns. This can be confusing to read without the headers being on the same page.

I know there is an off map document that the patch added to the manuals folder that looks great, but not a lot of new players will realize that while reading the manual.
