Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

If there is an Administrative Points tracker could someone explain where it is? Thanks.

Top right corner - you should see an indicator of points remaining which goes down every time you spend some.

Okay, this is **critical** to me: Combat reports. Some of you may remember Gary Grigsby's Pacific War from 1992. You could click on a hex where combat occurred and see a text display of the combat.

We need that for this game or WitE2.

I like reading/watching combat-in detail-yet I couldn't do that with WitE as at the highest level of detail (7?), it took forever to watch.

We should just be able to click on a hex where combat occurred and read the details. Gory, beautiful details. People with a life-wife, kids, jobs-can't enjoy this game to the utmost as it is.

And please don't tell me it can't be done when 28 years ago it was done.

Does this not already exist in wite1 ? I have been clicking on hexes to read combat reports for battles there since wite1 first came out.

I would hope so! I asked years ago and no one mentioned it.

Hit F11 for "Show Battle Sites". That's the button just left to the "End Turn" button
WitE dev team - (aircraft data)
WitE 1.08+ dev team (data/scenario maintainer)
WitW dev team (aircraft data, partial data/scenario maintainer)
WitE2 dev team (aircraft data)

thanks, but that isn't what I'm talking about. Take the combat from the high-detail resolution and make that a text. F11 only shows me the results, not the resolution. PacWar had that.

Might not be quite what you are looking for but the combat reports in WITW (and I assume by extension WITE2) have way more detail than WITE in terms of what different elements have done. It isn't quite the blow by blow account you are asking for but you definitely get a better idea of the 'story' of the battle - so for example you can see an infantry assault fail to get moving due to artillery/air-power, or a similar assault avoid that suppression and get to 'fighting range' to enter a bloody battle against equivalent defenders. Let me know if you want me to dig out a screenshot to illustrate what I mean.

I'll look at it, Sammy. Thank you for your input.
