The Sharks are circling

Has anybody noticed the "users viewing this forum" list. Sure are a lot of people hanging out waiting for the release of AE. There are more people here then some forums have in a week (or months).

Yeah. I've noticed the increase. But, I don't notice any significant number on individual threads. Is everyone lurking with their cloaking devices on to pounce on an unsuspecting game announcement?

I tell ya, Rev, nobody's happy. This is the most morose last week or two of game launch time I have ever seen around here. It couldn't be more joyless if they were all women...

scene: slave pens next to the Colosseum arena
Sountaby Saented: Now, remember, all you Christians, though we are about to be torn limb from limb by lions for the perverted, hedonistic pleasure of the Roman masses, this is our finest moment...
Aima Skeptikathart: How do you reckon that one out, Sountaby?
SS: Because we will be martyred to our beliefs and our souls will join the Savior in Paradise.
AS: Sounds like a pretty crummy excuse for selling a video game to me.
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

Maybe Matrix strategy was to get us all in the water and keeping throwing new releases at us. I came within a click of picking up today's release out of pure desperation.

I am very excited...I can remember when Pacific War first came out and I could read a chapter in a book while I waited for the computer to handle a single turn. I have played ever since.

All the recent posts with more and more details and strategies have done nothing but increase my anxiety. I am scheduled to travel for work next week and debating what computer to bring with me in anticipation.

Nothing like watching a slow download in a hotel room.

This shark is hungry!!!

maybe we should just have kept quiet I suspect this is a case study in what not to do I sometimes wonder if we have been to open with everyone - there are always delays in projects of this kind and I am almost starting to feel at fault for not getting it out there quicker even though I know folks want it as right as possible.

Don't be so hard on yourself Andy, there are plenty of people that understand the amount of effort you all put into this project. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.[:)]

Yep, I can't even imagine the effort that goes in to a project like this. But I'm happy I get to enjoy the product!

Actually, I believe the most of us -- modest gamers -- are aware of your good intentions, sacrifice. We know that the time makes a better product.
Hell, we've been waitng for sooo long, there is no problem with another week or even a month... [:)]
Just make it right, that's the best way to reduce the "bad blood" after the release.
