Re: So why didn't you buy?

I bought the original release but have never played it. I'm a bit of a dinosaur in that I like to look at the manual, and it's huge and would drain my printer (and reading on-line isn't really much use). However, I see that there is now a Stalingrad module (guess it has been out a while!) so I may b...

Problem downloading BA2 Kursk

<t> Hi, wonder if you can help me. I've downloaded Kursk but it keeps appearing as a winzip 7 file, with various files contained therein, rather than the traditional matrix implementation process (which generally requires me to keep clicking 'next' until I get to the code. Any ideas? I enjoy matrix ...

RE: First Impressions

<t> I must confess I've never bought a game on steam but many have suggested it - what's the difference? (apologies for the somewhat dumb question)? [:)]<br/> <br/> Ooops, and BA2 is excellent. I quite like BA1 but the East Front is a significant improvement, hopefully you can bring the western fron...

RE: Campaign problem

<t> Ok thanks Erik, guess I'll buy it this weekend unless some catastrophic review comes through before then. Now I see there's also an official update, so I just download the game and then each time I fire it up it asks for updates from the web? Thanks for your help, I'm a bit of an IT bozzo ("bit"...

RE: Campaign problem

Can I ask, if I buy the game (quite likely, just a matter of timing) will it come with all of these fixes already included? [:)]

Thanks

RE: Thinking of buying

<t> Great thanks Iain. Really enjoyable game (I've bought a couple of them so far, and I'm sure I'll look to getting some more in time). SSG is my favourite series, but I sense that's reached the end of the line in terms of new releases, but although these feel less historically accurate at the batt...

RE: Thinking of buying

Well I bought a couple of the games, and they're good fun. I'm thinking of getting a couple more. I bought the first ones from US I think, is there any problem with me getting these from the UK Slitherine site in future or are they slightly different versions? [:)]

RE: Thinking of buying

<t> Thanks, I think that may have been the problem last time, will have another go tonight.<br/> <br/> Yes, I only went there briefly about 20yrs ago, and then moved to the other side of London which made things a little difficult logistically. Looks like you have done very well with Slitherine, wel...

RE: Thinking of buying

<t> Thanks Iain, I've taken the plunge and bought BA and one of the expansion packs. However, seems I've had the same problem I had with another matrix game last year where it downloads fine but then can't be found anywhere on the PC. I've bought the boxed version too so I think it will be ok in the...

Thinking of buying

<t> Hi, I don't have any of these BA games, but a friend has recommended they are pretty good. Could you let me know:<br/> <br/> 1. If I'm starting from scratch is there a consolidated game to buy, or do I have to buy the base game and then various add-ons?<br/> 2. Does it have good replay value?<br...

<t> Excellent, look forward to this. I've just bought the game and couldn't download it (I think Norton kept stopping some exe files or something or other), so awaited the disc which arrived yesterday only for my CD Drawer to stop working. [&:]Clearly some IT investment required at home. Is ther...

RE: Sad News

<t> Thank you for posting this. I used to play Critter regularly, we stopped last year after we'd exhausted the SSG games but still sent the occasional email of 'across the pond' type banter. He kept saying I should get that Blitzkrieg game so we could have a go at that but (as with many things) jus...
