RE: Change from chit to standard view?

<t> Believe me, there are chits in naval battles, the regular infantry chit in column formation. The thing is that when I switch to chit view in the land battles and then have a naval battle I get the swimming infantry. The naval battle gets the view I used for the previous battle. I have found a ...

Change from chit to standard view?

How can I change from chit view to standard view in naval combat? I play my land battles in chit view, but prefer the naval battles in standard view. In land combat "+" changes view, but it doesn't work in the naval battles.

battle mechanics in CoG and Cog EE

<t> I played the original CoG a lot, but haven't touched it in a while. Came to the forums and realized there is a new version. How does it compare to the old one, especially the detailed battle mechanics and the protectorate units?<br/>

My two main problems with the game were that ...

RE: Mixed order upgrade

<t> I was used to live with it too, until Turkey declared war on me. The Turks simply park an irregular cavalry, those you can disorder with a single volley, in front of your infrantry, and sit there. You then have two options: fire at them, get the opportunity charge, and watch your infantry ...

RE: Mixed order upgrade

<t> In my experience they can’t charge if the hex they are charging from is adjacent to one of your units, and you need at least two formed units to protect a caisson.<br/>
<br/>
Yes, cavalry spends movement points to change facing; it's just that IMHO the penalty should be greater. A matter of ...

RE: Mixed order upgrade

<t> I'd love that cavalry couldn't make U turns when charging. It's especially annoying when they zigzag through your units to charge your only supply. The only way of protecting the caissons is to completely surround them with your units, which doesn’t make much sense to me.<br/>
A big penalty to ...

RE: Causing insurrections

<t> I’m playing the 1805 scenario; Switzerland starts as a French protectorate. I’m OK with insurrections being difficult to cause, and with the “I hate you” penalty. I just want to know if there is a probability, however low, of causing an insurrection, or if I’m wasting my time. Currently there is ...

Mixed order upgrade

<t> IIRC from a previous discussion, the follow-up charge from the mixed order upgrade wasn’t supposed to allow you to displace the enemy unit, nor should it cause your unit to become disordered after the charge. I’m playing France again after installing the patch and I’m finding that if I fire to ...

Causing insurrections

Crash to Desktop after a few turns

After installing the new update, I'm having repeated CTDs a few turns into the game. Didn't have the problem with any of the previous versions.
Already tried reinstalling, but it doesn't correct the problem. Any other ideas?

<t> Thanks Eric, it makes sence now. I was sending them to a province where I already had troops.<br/>

Support movement

<t> How does the support movement thing really work? I’m sure I’m faithfully following the manual on this –select unit, move cursor to adjacent province, hit “s”-, and I’m getting the dashed arrow, but when the turn starts the unit moves battle or no battle. Also, if I issue and additional support ...

RE: Crown Of Glory v1.2.25 Update Released!

What am I doing wrong? I installed the new upgrade and nothing changed. No new manual, no readme file, and when I start the game I get the old 2.1.18 ver line at the right bottom corner of the screen. I don't even see any new files created in the CoG folder?
