RE: Strategic Conundrum

No. I tried it again and it worked so I've been playing since. I found the Tulagi campaign near impossible (actually impossible) until I turned the difficulty settings. Thanks for asking, Greyshaft.

RE: How old are you?

<t> 58 and still kicking. First wargame of sorts was a Tank Console game HBO installed at work. All the executives spent half their day playing against each other. Talk about corporate bonding.First real wargame was Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising on a floppy. It proved one thing to me that graphics ...

RE: The "Actual" Greatest War Movie ever

<t> If we're talking WWII, my favorite is the British gem, Dambusters. It's about a British intelligence unit trying to figure out how to blow a German dam to flood the industrial heartland of Nazi Germany. They end up designing a spherial bomb, dropped at wavetop altitude which has to skip like a ...

RE: For Newbies' Benefit: Armor in the Pacific

Thanks for the informative article. But how do you get tanks across deep water without DUKWs? Will an Alligator carry them? Also, if a supply menu offers barge carriers, where's the store where you can buy them ;-)?

RE: Tulagi-map, how to generate invasion battle?

<t> I didn't want to fiddle with the Ediotr, just wantd to play the game "as is." First, I want say how cool it is that there's a Tulagi battle at all, prelude to Guadalcanal. but I encountered some difficulties that I wanted to check. <br/>

I practice entertainment law and intellectual property - like copyright, trademark and WARGAMES!! I always wanted a game company client but, alas, none yet.

RE: To New Forum Members: Check in Here

<t> Name's Steve. I'm an attorney in NYC. I have been playing wargames since 1984. Some early floppy games included Tom Clancy's Red Storn Rising and a companion sub game. Extraordinary realism at a time when screen graphics consisted of primitive hieroglphics. Then there was also Aegis and Task ...

Sorry if this has been asked before but is there any way to slow down the scrolling on the SPWaW basic download? Thanks.

RE: Strategic Conundrum

Thanks Double Deuce/Terminus:

I actually tried to download SPWaW but when I intsalled it I got a prompt to insert disk#1. I'll probably buy SP first but War in the Pacific goes on my gift list. Appreciate the quick response.

Strategic Conundrum

<t> I used to play many wargames in the '90's and gave it up. Now I'm ready to return and am interested in War in the Pacific and Steet Panthers World at War. I enjoy the battle aspects of SPI-III but I also enjoy planning and the more strategic thinking that come with ames like, say, Railroad ...
