Leipzig - Engineers?

<t> In the 1805 Napoleonic scenario is there some benefit for the French from their engineer units? I cannot figure that out if there is. And I did not see anything that addresses this in the info on the scenario. <br/>

Another problem. I cannot seem to attack the Austrian unit in Ingolstadt ...

Error when picking scenario

<t> So I bought Opart about a year ago and changed out my computer earlier this year. I just installed it on the new computer and I have an issue. This computer is windows 10. Starting the program all looks fine until I try to select a new scenario. It does come up with an option of 3 scenarios and ...

Location of TF's

<t> I recently purchased this game and have been playing it some to try to learn the system but one issue that seems to be a problem for me is that the information for a task force will tell me its "at sea" but I do not see that it indicates the location of the TF on that screen. Is there somewhere ...

Various Issues

<t> First what a great game. Amazing to still be playing after all these years. <br/>
<br/>
recently I thought I'd try some of the new countries. Just thought I would try to generate a battle. I tried to do republican spain vs nationalist spain in 1936 and I get error messages even though it looks ...

Scenario Question

I bought the campaign series right when it was released and at that time I seem to remember a scenario that had soviet tanks and Us tanks in a post WWII battle. Now I can't seem to find that scenario. Does someone know what scenario this is or was? Did it get removed in a later update? Thanks.

So What Happend to Blackpowder Wars

I've been waiting for that title for I guess a year or two now, and I see its no longer in the forum. Has the title been scrapped?

Cav VP's

<t> Every wargame has issues. I hope that Matrix will address some of those in the Napoleonic series. The two main problems I see are that of cavalry and skirmishers. First of all, victory points for cavalry are too high. I find myself firing at enemy cavalry trotting behind my enemies main line of ...

RE: Wish list

<t> I probably played the Campaign Series longer than any other computer wargame that I've bought and I ended up buying them in many different versions. I really love them, but the one issue I really thought was poorly done in the whole system is the way tanks operate in an urban environment ...

RE: I just hope this game lives up to the name: Battles of Napoleon

<t> While I enjoy the Talonsoft Napoleonic games, I can't help thinking they don't "feel" like a Napoleonic battle. Maybe that partially because I have not played them a lot. I know there is a online club that has a number of "gentlemans" rules to make them play more like they should, but its too ...

RE: I just hope this game lives up to the name: Battles of Napoleon

<t> Well, I think the success of HPS games is an indicator that there are plenty of folks that rate the graphics as less important. HPS 3d graphics are something I rarely look at. It would be interesting to see if you took a poll about that how many HPS game players play in 2d vs 3d. I would think 2 ...

RE: I just hope this game lives up to the name: Battles of Napoleon

<t> Well, I think newer wargamers would like it. I think most wargamers look at the game first and at the graphics as gravy. I even played BON by email. Since you could save the game after each execution phase it worked just fine. The only problem was that you had to rely on your opponent to tell ...

I just hope this game lives up to the name: Battles of Napoleon

<r> Okay so I am an old guy. I remember when SSI's Battles of Napoleon came out. Anyone else here play that game? I thought it was a materpiece. Yes there were a few issues, but it was just so deep and at the same time incredibly playable. I think its my favorite computer game of all time. I wish it ...
