Re: End game victory tally reporting

Ah ha, it works, but it doesn't look like it is working. The player whose turn finishes the game sees a blank screen when they return to the game selection menu for mulitplayer. In other words, the game is automatically deleted for that player.
However, now I know the opponent still has the game and ...

Re: End game victory tally reporting

Thanks for that, we will attempt to make certain of the sequence of end of game and notification. But, it seems in all games we select the 'notify opponent' and then quit, but do not delete the game, and the notify message is never available.
We use screenshots.
However, assuming you are correct and ...

New Scenaros

I love the new additional, short scenarios. Just finished Operation Avalanche and it was splendid to play. Previously had play, via pbem, Market Garden. Great addition to the game.

End game victory tally reporting

I am not sure if this has been posted as I could not find it, but it is likely a known issue.

The ending screen in Warplan and Warplan Pacific promises a final report will be posted in the game multiplayer page. However, not such report is ever posted. This is, of course, not a deal breaker, but it ...

Thank you for sharing these strategies. Well considered and interesting.
Do you favor one over the others?

Re: Japanese Opening move(s) - NEI and Malaya

This is very helpful. I spent my first several games just learning which hexes were available for invasion. I like what you have offered. And it seems, then you have no oil shortage.

I continue to find discussion of early Japan to inform. I hope to play Japan in 1941 as well as the historical successes.

I never play against AI, so the information about what other players can do is very interesting.

Re: New to the game, loving the complexity and challenges

I do love the six ship limit option for scenarios. But a navy can still monster with oil and multiple forces, which is not a problem at all.
Thanks to everyone for comments.
I do now understand why no need to limit force size and so much more.
This will be a favorite to play for a long time.

Re: New to the game, loving the complexity and challenges

Very helpful. This is very much what I wondered about.

Do any player use a player's agreement to limit land forces on very small islands to divisional ? Somehow, this seems appropriate to me.

New to the game, loving the complexity and challenges

I have been involved in three pbem games so far and I am falling in love with the game. There is still so much I do not know. The forum has been very helpful in understanding play, charts and information and alternative such as why China is such a problem for Japan and how to use ships to counter ...

The installer often points you TYW Folder. Use the up arrow to the Thirty Years War folder.
Ask again if this does not make sense

BTW, love your Cicero quotation. Is this liberty versus license or something else.

Ok, I assume you are non-steam. Apply the patch one level higher than is intuitive and that will do the trick.

With this engine you do not use a trn file. You share the hst and that allows your opponent to create an ord.
Try it.

RE: Been Wanting this One for a While

<t> I only play WON in pbem so I do not see this crash. It only happens in solo play if the player runs a lot of turns without exiting. I presume this is due to memory issues. So easy fix is to exit every ten turns or so and then resume. Or, join a pbem game. WON is really fun with six other players ...

New Matrix/Slitherine web format

<t> I hate it.<br/>
It used to be game information was easy to find, now it seems we are becoming Steam clones. My beloved AGEOD is now gone as a web interface except the forum. I am not sure what is wrong with owning a game outright rather than merely renting it through the Steam interface. I do ...

RE: Crash Every 1-3 turns...

Hi guys - watching this I think the simple solution is to run the game in administrative mode. This allows the game to run as designed. Windows 10 plus take away the default that the owner is the admin.

We would need more info about what error message you are seeing.

Figured it out, need to be using Matrix/Sliterine username, not a new username.
