Yes, of course if you want to the shall look like Spain or Portugues you should make unit graphic and change on file.

RE: Playing with the editor

A question from someone new to this game.&nbsp;
Does the editor allow the user to add new armies from nations other than the ones supported by default? In my case I was interested on modeling the Portuguese and Spanish armies.

I'm not sure about skirmishers adding anything to the firepower of a battalion. The light company would deploy in skirmish formation in front of the battalion, thereby screening it but also masking the firepower of the rest of the formation ...

This one is easy. Like in H&M, you can just abstract the skirmishers in the firepower of the unit. No need for special formations.

And formations that had skirmish troops deployed out while the main body stayed in formation as opposed to units that could totally go to skirmish formation (Rifle units etc.)?<br/>

Battalion/Regimental guns

Will BPW support the attachment of battalion/regimental guns to infantry units? H&M and HistWar:LG both support this feature.

Infantry marching in step (history)

<t> One admirable feature of infantry maneuvre in the 18th century was marching in step with the characteristic slow cadence (approximately 90 steps per minute, if I'm not in error) marked by the sound of musical instruments. Was this significantly changed during the Napoleonic period? How/When did ...

It will be interesting to see how this game handles the era of Black Powder.. If it is to be Napoleonic it must have tactics to cover columns of attack, columns en mass, etc as was done,, and sure as i am writing here,, someone will do a mod for the SYW ...

They don't look worse, the units are far more detailed than HnM1's and the overall graphics are by far much better, just look at the full screen interface compared to HnM's windows based one. A 2D view isn't even needed since you can get ...

The game is set to focus on the Napoleonic period. It could be stretched to similar times (AWI, 1812)...but I think tehre are changes in teh method of warfare that will keep it from going to far in either direction.<br/>

Early Napoleonic Armies: 18th century

<t> In the Horse&Musket (18th century wargame by Shrapnel Games) forum I have been debating whether "Black Powder Wars: BON" could also be used to model 18th century armies/battles, since from my point of view Napoleonic warfare presents little more than tactical developments when we compare it with ...
