My CD is apparently a pirated one from ebay. It was supposed to be a legitimate purchase (on my end) of a used CD and I have obviously been had. It looks nothing like the CD above. I will notify ebay about this person/company/whatever. <br/>

Thank you - I found my serial code in my registry, but the 1.040 patch doesn't recognize it as a valid serial code. Any ideas on what I can do?

This was helpful, anything further I would sure appreciate.

<t> Um...no I typed it exactly as it appeared on the sleeves - only one hyphen in the whole thing. And ..um... security doesn't make a bit of difference when the number doesn't work. I typed it that way to see if anyone recognized that as the general format of the serial code. <br/>
