11/5/36

I'm not sure how did a single NAT armored train manage to route-and-surrender two fully-trained REP regiments by Pamplona, but we're going to roll with it under protest... This is the first instance this campaign of a non-sentry REP unit surrendering. Much less a trained and high-morale one.

11/4/36: Valladolid

Continuing clockwise from Madrid suburbs, here's Valladolid. A bit earlier a REP task force got to the city only to be blocked by NAT soldiers from every direction. They are carefully starting to uncork the blockade.

11/4/36: Salamanca-Segovia

A new entrant to the AAR, an area Northwest of Madrid. REP forces have been cautiously probing around, exploring. NAT forces seem low, but REP forces aren't the best either, as everything great is being sent towards Andujar.

11/4/36: Andujar

The Spanish Stalingrad is quiet for now, but both sides are reinforcing heavily. REPs have about 33K troops in the area, many beaten up, and NATs I estimate at about 22K, but they have more equipment and artillery.

REP Naval forces

Now that REPs have been handed a terrible naval loss - 3 destroyers sunk - it's time for a review of what's left. The ships that could make it out of the area are in Odessa for repair. The ones that couldn't, are in some God-forsaken fishing harbor halfway between Cartagena and Malaga. There are ...

11/3/26

More careful dancing around Andujar and a bit of fighting by Canaveral. REPs are conscripting three more divisions towards Stalingrad, with units being pulled from Madrid, Cartagena, and even Tarragona where the Garibaldi brigade has just landed.

Heavy fighting around Andujar. Both sides have near 60K troops tied in the area.
Many REP stacks are having to fall back and rest/heal.

REPs attempt a full-on offensive at Andujar, having added three armored trains and Madrid artillery to their ranks. REPs also take Pamplona.

Quiet, overall. REPs are slowly liberating the ring around Bilbao.

10/29/36: Gijon

REPs are patiently waiting in Gijon with a 3.6K HQ garrison. A small force of displaced sentries is coming in from the west, too.

10/29/36: Andujar

This is a very interesting screenshot. NATs concentrated west of Andujar, REPs, in Andujar. NATs have 20K, REPs 32K. But look at the logistics, a single REP cavalry unit carefully clipped all of the NAT bases, and it is in fact parading 3 Italian tankettes to the REPs. So: to charge, or to let them ...

10/29/36

My apologies on missing the 10/28/36 turn. I don't recall anything mind-blowing there anyway. 10/29/36, though, was a genuine REP naval disaster. Two task forces, 7 +/- gunboats and DDs met a NAT CL. The CL ran away from the gunboats and proceeded to terrorize the destroyers... three down, one more ...

10/27/36

Things are starting to heat up ("no relation" to this being the weekend, hehe), and REPs are on the offensive across the North, West, and even over water. A NAT DD manages to one-kill a REP sub with depth charge. REPs, after massing 30+ ships, over 4 battles, finally manage to sink a lonely NAT ...

Nothing exciting. NATs catch a few of REP cavalry and small squad raiders and punish them. Else, quiet.

A rather pointless turn - REPs are all retreating to heal up, REP gunboats run all over West Med with no luck. The only curiosity - REPs catch and clip another NAT unit to pieces by Canaveral. Perhaps their troops in the area are all out of supplies? Shall we, banzai?

REPs run out of steam by Andujar and may need to fall back.
By Canaveral, a successful sortie kills 6 NAT Art/Vehicle units.

Ovideo falls, predictably.
NAT forces around Bilbao are being carefully rooted out.
NATs surround Zaragosa, predictably, - I pull back heavily to heal up and resupply, but now that REPs are to 100 morale...
More heavy fighting around Andujar. This is genuinely becoming Spanish Stalingrad.
