RE: Announcement - Wolverine Studios

I'd ask if there will be backward support for Puresim and for how long... but who am I kidding???? Put me down for a lifetime supply of DDS:Baseball.

See you on the other side Shaun.

Newbie Observations

<t> First, DW, great game for the money and very ambitious effort. I like the concept and it fills a great void for me as I haven't upgraded my FB gaming library since FBPro '99 was recalled. Been playing '98 since but decided to give MaxFB a shot during the promo.<br/>

RE: Revive the Ning!

<t> We are all entitled to our opinion. I think Ning is a good place to be able to interact, it is a little more personal than the forum board and also allows Shaun to post/read items without being under Matrix supervision.<br/>

Revive the Ning!

<t> I would like to revive the Ning group. Anyone else think it would be nice to breathe some life back into the old girl? For those of you that visit this site daily it would be pretty easy to point your browser to Ning instead... if only you had a reason to, right?<br/>

RE: Favorite Musical Line

A little more than a line... but it is baseball related, sort of.

Besides, it's probably nothing. Doctors like to scare us regular folk every once in a while - lots of expensive tests and it keeps you coming in for regular physicals from then on. Those Mercedes and ...

RE: How Do You Feel About the Financial Setup?

<t> The financials are a challenge to small market teams for sure and of no concern to the big market cities. I think the player requests during initial draft and FA period are accurate and reflect the players' worth. I am pleased with the financial model, just not so much with how the AI sometimes ...

RE: Once More on Historical Career Roster Sizes

<t> KG - <br/>
<br/>
I like what you are saying but I think 35 players is fine as a roster size for historical leagues. What I think is the issue is that you have to expand the association in later years to beyond 30 teams so that you don't "waste" talent. I have been able to pretty well ...

RE: Lahman Errors

<t> KG - I agree I don't mean this as a knock on PS. I play this game for hours a week when I can and I am only hoping that by pointing out possible ways to stream line player import the game will be able to achieve an "out of the box" accurately playable experience with real players for folks who ...

RE: Lahman Errors

<t> Also, should be noted that Baseball Reference was built with Lahman DB as its foundation and that was built with RetroSheet as its foundation. So the data is all there for us it just needs some massaging. I think we can do more with Lahman DB to customize the experience when playing PS without ...

The issue is in PS. I think this is actually a good thing becaus eit is something that can probably be fixed rather than a DB issue which would require some real heavy lifting.<br/>

I was reading through my SABR (Society of American Baseball Researchers) newsletter archive and I found a small item that was interesting.... Photographs of 15000 of the 16000 players to have played baseball from 1871 - 2006 have been indexed and catalogd.... One month later less ...

RE: Real players or Fictional

<r> I answered real and I am definitely a historical player. What I find troublesome is that when I want to restart an association I have to redo the ballpark assignments and player pools or import a template that maybe has some setting in it that I want to change (like roster size, # teams, etc ...

RE: Some times it's the little things

<t> Here's a little playability request. I would like to be able to export a player pool from one association and import it into another association. Tis would prevent me from having to import players from Lahman and then tweaking certain players that import at P who should be POS players and vice ...
