RE: Current Game Status, 7 January 1942

<t> I think your plans for the carriers are solid. <br/>
<br/>
Well, I had great luck using my CV's to destroy AK's, AP's and their escorts. I am playing a campaign against a human and against the computer (second one was for practice). In fact, my carriers never launched against anything larger ...

A simple question on upgrades

<t> During my campaign, I noticed all of my warships have an option "upgrade on 4/42" (for example) and a toggle yes/no. Being my first campaign, I haven't come across this yet. <br/>
<br/>
What does this mean? I am playing the allies, do I have to get my ships back to San Fransisco in order to ...

RE: fragmented LCU's

That is good news. I am in the same situation as airgriff, with many evacuated, fragmented allied LCU's scattered around the map.

A question about repair!

<t> Hello! Thanks again to all the vetrans that helped with my last question. The war effort is going pretty good for me (still early in 1942, as the allies, so that is saying a lot!).<br/>
<br/>
I read in the manual that ships repair faster when docked. Say I have 7 badly damaged ships, is it ...

RE: Effective defense

<t> Well, another update. <br/>
<br/>
I am putting up a very stiff defense in SEA using evatcuated land and air units from the Phillipines, as many suggested. <br/>
<br/>
At first, they were assisted by whatever naval units I could "borrow", this stopped once the Japanese player committed dozens ...

<t> Well Moses, it may be too late for me. I am doing okay, but not as good as you did! As long as I can make it tough for him...<br/>

Lack of air power is going to kill me, I am sure! Niceguy made a nice suggestion:<br/>

RE: Effective defense

<t> As an update...<br/>
<br/>
I took the "make them pay for every inch of ground" attitude vs. the computer opponent. using what little airpower I had to attack ground units is working very well.<br/>

However, I will have to see how it plays out in my human game. the Japanese player is ...

Effective defense

<t> First off, thanks to everyone who responded to my last question and helped a out a rookie player!<br/>
<br/>
I do have another question for the vetrans...has anyone (playing as the Allies) been able to mount and effective defense against the Japanese in Southeast Asia early in the war? And I ...

RE: Feeling overwhelmed, pt.1 Production!

Very interesting,Mynok. Well, I decided to play as both the allies and japan (different games, against computer) until I got the hang of the game. These last points will be very useful...

RE: Feeling overwhelmed, pt.1 Production!

<t> Okay, no AI zone of control. <br/>
<br/>
Although, if I lost too quickly, I COULD blame it on the computer..."it wasn't my fault, lousy AI couldn't run Australia!"<br/>
<br/>
So, back to the production for a second, does this mean I have no control over ship building as the Allies? <br ...

RE: Feeling overwhelmed, pt.1 Production!

Thanks moses and witpqs! I won't worry about it.

One more quick question, if Australia (the whole zone) is under the computers control, will it take care of shipping oil, or do I need to do that from the USA?

Feeling overwhelmed, pt.1 Production!

<t> Hello, I have been playing WiTP for a few weeks and just decided to start a campaign. <br/>
<br/>
I am playing as the Allies, but don't even know where to begin in regards to production. The manual is pretty clear in regards to the Japanese, but I can't get the allied factories to produce ...
