RE: What Do You Want an Editor For?

<t> Greetings.<br/>
<br/>
I looked forward to this game as a follow up on A.T. I like AT so much! Some of you may recall that i bought it twice because I lost my first copy. <br/>
<br/>
AT stayed fresh playing on random maps, and you never knew what the future held because modders came up with ...

RE: Chop wood, buy armoured car, rush city - is that it?

<t> This was a nice thread to read. I liked how Grymme was patient and helpful. I also liked how altipueri came around. But without Grymme, this great game would have ended up in altipueri's trashcan.<br/>
<br/>
Now altipueri, let me tell you that you will start to beat this game. Yes, maybe you ...

Sielle and George1972,

Every morning, before reading the news of the day, I check to see what happened here first. Yeah, this AAR is most interesting!

RE: RETREAT!!!!!!

<t> I agree with this wish.<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Everyone all over the countryside has a chance of activation EXCEPT the troops in an attacked province. Why cant THEY react and slip away before the fight?<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
I will guess one reason: If we allow the defender to retreat before combat ...

RE: Not in the Flow Yet

<t> John, I dont remember how long of a time a turn was. I do remember that the number of segments in that time was variable.<br/>
<br/>
Now a question for you(and anyone else). Why is that all leaders have a chance to react EXCEPT a leader that is being attacked? In the boardgame the army being ...

RE: Not in the Flow Yet

<t> Well spotted, friends.<br/>
&nbsp;<br/>
Yes, John,&nbsp;the version I played was Victory Games.&nbsp; I still have that box somewhere. Such a simple concept made a great game. I dont remember&nbsp;many rules problems.<br/>

I live out in the countryside and so dont&nbsp;get to ...

Not in the Flow Yet

<r> New player here. I was attracted to this game because it reminded me of an elegant boardgame of the American civil war that had similar ratings which allowed army commanders to react into or away from an enemy who moved into adjacent hexes. Its been 25 years. I was good at that game and was ...

RE: Terrain mod - AH Blitzkrieg style

Thank you guys for the fast response. The fault is not with the mod disigner, but with me. I am computer illiterate and tend to mess things up with even the simplist download. If someone can make it a simple download I would so appreciate it.

HQ Layers

<t> In the old People's Tactics the HQ system allowed for layers of command, so that the supreme commander gave a bonus to even the smallest unit several layers below on the command chain.<br/>
<br/>
In Advanced Tactics if I have a division unit with a HQ, the HQ gives a bonus to the division. OK ...

The Poor Start Position

<t> Friends,<br/>
<br/>
There are start random map positions with very poor production opportunities, and against AI++ it is hard. Rivers, mountains, and most of all lakes combine to choke off expansion. Having just got the game lately I am not an expert at quick expansion. I am not even good at ...

Do I need previous patches also? or does this 1.02b contain all previous?
&nbsp;
The game runs so good out o the box I hate to play with patches at all :)

RE: To Buy Or Not To Buy? That Is The Question...

<t> Friends,<br/>
<br/>
The internet forum turns all of us consumers into critics. Not that we really are experts. On some forums it is really a mess, with some people doing nothing but making critical comments 24/7.<br/>
<br/>
People are screaming for a product to be released, and are sure the ...

RE: Brief Review

<t> [font="times new roman"]Modding is not something i have ever done. Are these mods stable? any good? easy to load up? I cant tell. The last time i downloaded a player made mod I couldnt get the game to start at all(not Commander, but a different wargame) so i am shy to download mods unless they ...

Brief Review

<t> Be aware of a few things about Commander. <br/>
<br/>
It is not a shoot em up game. It is more like WW2 chess on a big map of Europe. There are no explosions or cut scenes. This is a war game. It feels alot like Panzer General. It has a nice easy feel, a tank is a tank and infantry is infantry ...
