Brief, interesting speculation. I don't think they are operational with Ukraine. But who knowns. Might be disinfo to scare the Russians.

Thanks.

China Space Plane

"A Defense Intelligence Agency infographic shows the many ways one satellite might attack another. Similar kinds of technologies could potentially also be employed by a Chinese spaceplane."

Re: Armor Question

I agree with with that. Start small but make your scenarios require a bunch of tactical decisions from the the start. As the scenario moves along, throw in unexpected enemy reactions. But not so huge to destroy the scenario for the player.

Re: Armor Question

Command, in its current state, is hard pressed to simulate ground warfare in today's wars. You can try. And have a bunch of fun trying to do so. But i don't think anyone has produced a serious scenario where ground warfare is the focus in a realistic manner. But that is not the point of Command ...

Thanks. Can you use Paint that comes with Windows or have to get something more sophisticated?

So why?

Could this be not ended quickly with a carrier strike group and a marine ARG/MEU in about 72 hours? Why are we such pussies?

How do you keep this great software out of the hands of the enemy? Just curious.

Re: Quick check, tips, and questions about scenario editing

No. But I did figure it out. But a question. When you edit a section of a master map (I don't think you can edit the maps that ship with the game; just user maps) does that change the master map too. Is there a way to just edit a section of the master map leaving the whole map unchanged?
Thanks ...

Re: Quick check, tips, and questions about scenario editing

I took a break over the summer and I cant to get the map editor to appear.
Yep mapEditMode=1
Yep I generate a mission with the map to be edited.

I have done this before. I am missing something stupid. It was easy 6 months ago. Pretty sure there is a missing piece.

That's a lot of firepower. But I don't think it be used. Show of force I suppose. That OOB could defeat all but China.

Re: Tu-95

All I know is that USA spent a lot tax money on Nike sites and it had a lot to do with defending against the Bear. Not sea gulls.

Happy Thanksgiving to All.

Could you provide a reference for that?

I might be wrong, but I do remember the Bear being a threat to my house in NJ.

What was the goal of Nike sites? Shoot down sea birds?

When the tu-95 bear flew down the east coast USA during the cold war, did carry any payload? Or just a show of force or perhaps recon?

The A10 was used above MANPAD range to pretty good effect vs Iraqi ground sites. There is an excellent book:
Warthog: Flying the A-10 in the Gulf War that goes into how they modified tactics to use the system in ways never imagined
