RE: Upgrades and miniatures

<t> Just frightened of repair/remedial time spent playing aroud with redownloading and folders instead of game time. That said I upgraded to UV 2.42 before I read your mail about the original 2.3 being the most trouble free!<br/>
So far I don't know the game well enough to see if it has caused me a ...

RE: Upgrades and miniatures

<r> Very frightened!!! Received my copy of uncommon valor yesterday morning. Thought I was free of problems!! The thing about these troublesome games is that it deters me from playing the games I want to and I end up playing the most reliable games instead. <SM sm="sad-1361.gif">[sm=sad-1361.gif ...

RE: Upgrades and miniatures

<t> Can't help with the miniatures thing i'm afraid but....<br/>
you will need to install 2.1 and 2.2 in the defaulted folders stated by installation. In my own experience, there are lots of bugs involved withupgrades but they are neccesary. Previous threads will help you if you get a problem.<br ...

RE: how do i move units?

<t> Had another thought...... did you mean "can you push each counter there and then?" I don't believe so, not like Korsun pocket. You send out orders to all of your counters and then press the sand timer. Its more of a generals view/game rather than being in charge of every different units ...

RE: how do i move units?

<t> Apologies I do not have game on at the moment so forgot caption button name. At the bottom of the screen (below) after you have clicked on a corps commander are a number of tabs - objectives, urgency, send orders etc. The one next to urgency (can't remember name) will bring up hold, fallback and ...

RE: how do i move units?

Why does Matrix games lead the field in wargames producing high polish games only to serve up inept or non existant tutorials. I would include Korsuns pocket aswell (unbeatable game / dodgy tutorial)[:-]

RE: how do i move units?

Glad to help. Don't forget my offer of PBEM for when you've become a master of COTD and I'm begging you for mercy.
Incidently I do seem to get bugs/errors everytime I load a saved game. Have you had any problems?

RE: how do i move units?

<r> [:)] Hey there. I bought COTD two weeks ago and initially you are left feeling totally redundant. It doesn't have any of the immediate dynamism of Korsun Pocket etc but if you abandon all of your preconceptions about wargames it can be very addictive. <br/>
These seem to be the basics ...

Want to wade through treacle with a newbie?

<r> [>:]Here's the thing. Ive been playing hex n counter wargames for some years now but finally updated my PC from one that required a crank and handle to a new groovy one. Hence the chance to play by e-mail. Here's where you come in - this would be my first PBEM and you will probably pull your ...
